Tobias Wong exhibited this Diamond video installation for Commes Des Garcons in Tokyo. It’s made of 100 sparkling and rotating diamonds and is available in a screensaver for Mac or PC.

I think I can honestly say this is one of the best log holders I’ve ever seen. I should also add that I haven’t really seen a whole lot, living where I do, but I think most people would agree that this particular holder is stylish and practical. If or when I move somewhere with snow, I’ll buy it faster than someone can say ”shovel the sidewalk”. Or something.

This price ain’t so bad for a dresser so sleek. The long pulls and low shape make up for an altogether inexpensive storage cabinet for all your sweaters and such. I’m happy that there are options out there for those of us on limited budgets. Hurray.

These remind me of 3rd grade, but in a good way. Covers are screen-printed by hand and have a small pocket inside the front cover for whatever you wish to keep in it.

Vintage shopping can be difficult because if you have something in mind that you’re looking for, chances are you could search for a very long time until you find it. But if you’re on a budget, I recommend vintage shopping over shopping at IKEA, because the pieces have lasted fifty years and will last another fifty, unlike their MDF counterparts.

The people at Two Jakes (Jake and Jake?) make your job a little easier by offering some great older pieces at low prices. Check them out. This credenza is $225, a comparable price for an IKEA credenza.

So, okay, there’s not a price posted for this yet, so it technically is not available for immediate purchase, yet I’m way too impressed with it to put off posting until there is a dollar-sign-amount assigned. This table-in-a-box is really so incredibly clever and really is the perfect solution to those small spaces that we all invariably run into at some points in our lives. The pictures pretty much explain the process…

Why, oh why is this lamp so darned expensive? Maybe ’cause it’s a lot larger than this photograph suggests? Or maybe because it’s hand made in Holland? Whatever the reason, I wish it wasn’t so much because I want it.
