I once read this book called Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done by renowned business consultants Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan. Let me give you a synopsis so you don’t have to read it: It’s great to have plans, but the only way to accomplish them is by implementing strategies, which require that you assign the tasks to your minions. In this case, your plans are your New Years Resolutions and your strategy is this Resolution Tracker. And your minions is you.

This is a nice DeStijl example was designed in 1922 and reportedly was one of Eileen Grays favorite pieces and stood in her living room until her death.
“She exhibited it in 1922 at an exhibition of French art in Amsterdam. It was no surprise that this small table aroused the attention of the DeStijl architects. The sculptural Quality, the use of color and the logical design are all features of ‘DeStijl’.”

The kids at Design Public, again, too funny not to quote:
Behold, the paperless society! Long heralded by media outlets, technology developers, and inveterate optimists, the age of the purely electronic office has arrived! No more will we keep hard copies of our records; no more will we file and retain seven years of receipts; no more will we need to gather and organize in one place disparate materials from various sources, available at our fingertips on demand! But it might be a good idea to have a mobile, locking file cabinet still. You know, just in case.

Verner Panton created many innovative furniture pieces in the sixties and seventies, and the Living Tower is the most innovative of them all. A forerunner of the “micro-environments” trend which encouraged social interraction, the Living Tower was constructed of a wood frame upholstered with wool over foam padding.

When real estate is at a premium, this pivot workstation (which expands to reveal a tiny desk) is perfect for anyone who just has a few files to store and isn’t a compulsive worker. Actually, it’s nice to think about having a workspace that’s available only when you need it instead of having it beckon you to sit down and work or check your email. What a concept.

For all of you holiday entertainers (the nice sort, not the naughty) that might need a decent way for guests to distinguish which glass is theirs, as well as distinguish themselves from others with labels such as “‘mellow but charming,’ ‘easily approachable,’ ‘supple,’ or ‘earthy.'” These tags are even colorful enough that people will be able to tell their own glass from another’s long after text becomes unmanagable. via design*sponge.

Wait a minute, what year is it? Haven’t we seen these somewhere before? You can now resurrect the good part of 1960’s design with these Moon Rock Lamps. They give off an excellent light, perfect for creating a certain ambiance…
“Each lamp is handcrafted in Ravenna, Italy, made of fiberglass coated with a layer of Italian stones.”
