I do believe this table is notable, especially for the colors it’s available in. It’s not often that you find a modern eye-catching dining table (that seats eight) that’s in dark olive, ivory, robin’s egg blue, or watermelon. Word is that BluDot will add desk accessories to this line later on, so keep that in mind too. Kinda fun, huh?
Powder-coated steel frame and lacquered MDF top.
34.5w x 90l x 29h
56″ Strut seats four, $699.00
75″ Strut table seats six, $1099.00
90″ seats eight, $1299.00

Look at the dimensions of this light- really quite perfect when you are concerned with scale (esp. over rectangular dining tables). And it really is kind of timeless.

The Lui table is constructed with traditional Chinese woodworking techniques without nails or screws. For those of you who don’t know, this means that the table will withstand imperceptible fluctuations in temperature and humidity because all the joints will expand and contract together. (As opposed to joinery using nails and screws, in which the wood expands and contracts and the metal remains constant, causing the joints to become compromised.)

All of these are really quite something…I would recommend any of them to anybody. And maybe these are more than you’re looking to pay, but if I didn’t tell you about them you wouldn’t get to wish you had more money. Comes complete with ceiling mount, wiring and shade.

I might be a little obsessed with calendars. But this one is really the calendar of all calendars. Designed in 1967 for Danese Milano, Italy, by Enzo Mari it alledgedly has become “one of the classic icons of 20th Century Design”. And the way I figure it, if you bought this, you wouldn’t have to stand in front of the wall of calendars at the end of December trying to decide between the lesser of two evils. AND, you’d actually end up saving money if you kept it for more than, uh, 20 years (assuming the cheesy picture calendars cost about $12)…
Available in red lettering on black or black lettering on aluminum.
Material: Anodized aluminum, lithographed PVC, English text.
Dimensions: 12.40″ H x 12.40″ W.

For your favorite aspiring astronaut, this pen will write upside down, under water, over grease, in freezing cold, boiling heat, and in outer space; each pen is supplied with a black ink medium-point specially designed pressurized ink cartridge.
When astronauts first began space travel they used pencils, but the leads sometimes broke and became a hazard by floating in the capsule’s atmosphere where there was no gravity. They could float into an eye or nose or cause a short in an electrical device. In addition, both the material composition of the pencils could burn rapidly and was considered hazardous.
The Fisher company spent over one million dollars trying to perfect the space-worthy ball point pen. Get yours for significantly less.

I’ve been looking for a watch and I think I’ve found quite possibly the perfect one. The large numbers show the current time while the small ones indicate a second time zone, alarm, date, chronograph (!), and countdown timer. And the face lights up. (Philippe Starck, 2000-2001)
