As some parts of the country are experiencing an unusually late winter, perhaps a nice hot tea will warm the spirits.

This looks to be more of a sculpture than a mere kitchen accessory.
“Sagaform is a Swedish company that makes clean, well designed products that are good looking, practical and affordable. This clever small pestle (made from ceramic) and mortar allow for the even crushing of small amounts of spices…”

I love the idea of one of a kind and limited production pieces, and this is a great execution.
“This table will self-destruct. Combining efficiencies of mass production and unique rules that limit the product lifespan, this platform table explores the space between one-off and mass produced furniture. Made of concrete “pixels,” each time a new table is produced, a pixel is removed from the design. Because material is taken away with each rendition, every table is unique. Following these set rules of self-destruction, the shape becomes more intricate as it diminishes. As a result, the project is a limited production, made only until the shape is no longer desirable.”

How many cake stands could qualify as modern? This is not a rhetorical question, by the way, I really only know of this one.
“A contemporary interpretation of the traditional cake stand, this versatile glass piece has an intricate reverse lace pattern in black. Perfect for serving cakes and other confections, or as a display piece where the light filters through the pattern to create shadows on the surface below. Hand-wash only.”
