For those of you that are hopeless at tablecloths and fancy napkin folding, you need not fear. Laser cut lines provide a guide for any sort of table as well as adding a bit of decoration. The napkins have guides for two different classical arrangements. You might have to save up for the set, but it would be worth it.

Now that there is a bigger effort to create and market bags and totes without all the unnecessary accoutremont it’s fairly easy to find something unoffending, but rarely do I find something that I think is actually designed. I mean that in the sense that the designer is redesigning from square one, reconsidering all the standards of the past in favor of ergonomics, proportions and new materials. I think this is a fine specimin. A bonus (?) is that I don’t think there are any retailers in the states so if you decide to order one it will be the only one on your block.

I bought one of these when I was at ICFF from the design boom young designers display. It’s is a very thick 100% wool felt (4mm) which has been laser cut in the shape of a fox.

These really are pretty clever…

Journals are a great gift because they tell the recipient “Hey, you have something important to say. Write it down.” And you could just give someone a 99 cent spiral bound notebook but then it wouldn’t really be a gesture. And maybe just having a journal that is well designed and thought out would encourage someone to write. And this journal is a good example of a well designed one. The first page is pure white, and each page gets progressively redder until the last page which is very very red.
