Field Boards by Hay Denmark

This collection of bread boards were inspired by plowed fields, which is entirely evident when you view them from above. The deep grooves prove functional for collecting crumbs, thus minimizing your cleanup and keeping your tabletop/countertop even more pristine. Use the boards for cutting and serving, as they’ll add some texture and interest to your already impressive tableau.

Invisible Backpack

So, the good news is there are lots of simple backpacks available in the marketplace. The bad news is that you’ll have a hell of a time picking out the right one for you. Add the Invisible Backpack to your list of considerations, because it has that under-the-radar look we all love along with five different compartments for stashing your stuff. The wider top edge distributes the weight more evenly and gives you more room for easier access.

Anderson Sling Chair

Chances are that you don’t recognize this chair right away, and that’s probably because it’s not made by a famous designer or manufacturer*. Instead, it’s from Slowood Studios and Hawkins New York. Slowood Studios is owned and operated by Jules Anderson and she designs and fabricates most of her pieces, from welding to staining. In the case of the Anderson Sling Chair**, the welded iron frame makes a sculptural statement while the untanned natural leather will be easy on your backside after a long day’s work. Minimal, comfortable, and different. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Bell Table by Decode

Sheet plastic as a side table? Sure, why not when it looks this nice? Prepare yourself for a high price tag, though, as this table isn’t cheap. The Bell Table utilizes a concertina design to expand into a sturdy matrix to support the glass top. It may be folded back into a two dimensional form should you need to store or move it, which is ideal for those that are short on space or that tend to move around a lot. Available in two sizes.

    Minim Playing Cards (Black)

One deck of Minim Playing Cards is good to have, but two decks are even better. Make the second the all black version, which has the same simple geometric symbols (all reductive variants of the original hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades) as the original white deck. Let’s hope the color variations continue, as sometimes you need several decks to play a game- my vote for the next color option is dark blue, or maybe red?

    Honey Pot & Oak Dipper

Maybe you like your honey in a cute jar or bottle, but there are some of us who would like a honey receptacle to be visually quiet and serviceable, and to preferably reduce any drips that seem unavoidable with plastic bottles and lids. I’m thinking a glass jar is the way to go, and there are two that seem to fit the bill. Above you see the LSA Serve Honey Pot & Oak Dipper. It’s made of mouth-blown glass and has a ridged oak dipper for dispensing. The Honey Jar w/ Silicone Spoon from Blomus (below) is also a glass jar, yet it features a silicone spoon for drizzling. Which one is best*?

    Coleman Camp Stool

We’ve featured the Colman Stool by Greta de Parry before, but this Coleman Camp Stool comes in an adjustable 18-24″ height with a lower price point. So, just in case you’re looking for a smaller side table/stool, this one could be a good option, especially as the solid steel base and concrete top (several colors available) make it appropriate for indoor or outdoor use.

    6 Inch Scale Ruler

If you use architectural scales at all in your line of work, you might want to add this 6 Inch Scale Ruler to your bag of tricks. It features measurements from 1/32 of an inch up to 1 inch in a precise yet abstract manner. The absence of numerical lettering will keep your desktop a little less full of visual clutter, which you will probably appreciate even more after staring at drawings all day long.

    Gradient Puzzle

Test your grasp of gradient color with this puzzle by Bryce Wilner. And don’t turn your nose up at the thought of spending time on a puzzle. It will most likely force you to slow down and consider each piece to find its proper spot, and maybe even relax a little. You’ll get bonus points if you turn off all your devices and just concentrate on putting one section together. Those texts and tweets can wait.

Brass ID Tube Charm by Bethany Obrecht

This Brass ID Tube Charm is meant to keep your pet’s info attached to their collar just in case they decide to run off, but it looks like it might work just as well for your keyring (if you’re prone to losing your keys). Of course, if you do decide to use it for your keyring, don’t put your address on it; just put a phone number or email address, whichever you feel doesn’t point directly towards where your front door and its lock are located.

How good would you look lounging on the Week-end Furniture by Francois Azambourg? Pretty damn good, I bet. The collection is made from powder-coated steel sheet metal, bent and welded into comfortable forms that would look right at home beside a pool or in a garden. And the colors!
