Yes, this ladder would be great for hanging towels or clothes in the bedroom or bathroom, but it has an extra trick up its sleeve. The solid ash wood portion expands out from the matte-painted steel side so you can adjust it to fit your needs. So, on a day you need a little storage, slide it inwards, and on a day you need a lot, expand it outwards.

How’s this board for organizing your what-haves and thing-a-ma-jigs? It’s a wooden magnetic bulletin board called SmorgasBoard, and it has different wooden magnetic attachments: pegs, a hook, a box, and a shelf. Each piece may be placed anywhere on the board, so configure it just the way you like. There’s not too much, so things won’t get cluttered, but there’s enough to give those essentials (like your phone, keys, etc.) a home. I know, I know, your hands are clean enough, but wouldn’t it be nice to keep them clean with soaps that look like gemstones? Here’s a worthy pursuit: design a better option for placing light fixtures. Yes, you could call an electrician and spend hundreds of dollars. You could also buy a cheap brass hook and knot your cord’s fixture to keep it in place. Neither are ideal, but both are entirely feasible. Now you can add one more possibility to the mix. The Little Bishop Ceiling Hook aims to provide a hook specifically for cable hung pendant lights. This hook is shaped and cast by hand, with an elegant solution to wrap the cord around itself for a seamless installation. It might not fit every lighting situation, but for more temporary solutions on pendant light placement, it’s seems like a smart choice.

So smart! The Pon is a punctureless push pin by Mark Weiser. Instead of piercing your paper/photo/item, it hugs the item you want to display, thus keeping your item free of holes. What is that floor lamp that keeps showing up in Vincent Van Duysen’s interiors? Why, I was wondering the same thing, as the name wouldn’t quite make itself known amongst the other many products committed to memory. It’s the Daphine Floor Lamp Classic Reading Lamp by Tommaso Cimini, and, yes, I kind of want one too. In production since 1975, the Daphine Terra Classic has a small shade and delicate joints offset by a chunkier base. Its light spreads overly wide, and is adjustable in two steps. While I’d opt for the black (as Van Duysen does), there’s also a white and nickel-plated option.

Old books! On your wall! With large paintings by Ekaterina Panikanova! I’m a little more excited about the books than the paintings (nothing against Ms. Panikanova, the paintings are lovely) but, hey, I’ll take ’em as intended. The wallpaper is heavy-duty, and is even washable with a soft cloth, so don’t be too terribly precious about where it is installed. Also, pay attention to the explanation of how the mural is laid out; it can be a tiny bit confusing at first glance.

How about a little lunar imagery on your dishes? This stoneware set has black painted moon phases, and, as each dish is around 3.5″ in diameter, they would be a good fit in the kitchen for smaller portions (snacks) or in a dressing area for coins, jewelry, and other small pocket contents.
