This chair might not look like the most comfortable, but it is delightfully minimal. Graphic designer A.G. Forzoni designed this metal square tube frame and lacquered wood seat back in 1964, and its simplicity lies in Forzoni’s goal to “avoid waste and excess.” White or anthracite will set you back just over a grand, and for another Benjamin (plus some) you can get one lacquered in India blue, sun-yellow or cherry-red.

What is this lovely thing before us? It’s a coffee table by Tom Dixon and it’s strange enough to catch our eyes and have us thinking a glass coffee table is a good idea. The thinly printed stripes intersect at different angles depending upon our perspective, and that creates an interesting sort of moiré pattern. Made from UV”‘bonded sheet glass, the Trace Coffee Table is designed for domestic or contract use.

With some magnet trickery, you can change the angle of this copper-colored Magno Tube Lamp to suit your needs. Let’s get this straight: this mug will keep your beer cold without diluting it. Huh? What?? No more warm beers? I know, I know, you don’t need any temptation to buy new furniture, especially as you’re in back-to-school mode. Even if you don’t go to school, or don’t have kids in school, it’s still the end of summer, and that means your nose should be back to the grindstone. That said, there are some new colors for the Eames® Molded Plastic Chairs, and after clicking on a few combinations, it seems awfully tempting to inject some color into a dining area by buying just a couple of new chairs. Warm champagne is so, so sad, so you need to make sure that expensive bottle of whatever it is stays cold. How about a Naturally Cooling Ceramic Champagne Cooler to ensure it remains at the optimum temperature? What’s this pile of curvy, ornate wood planks? They’re cutting boards by Haidee Drew, and each one has an intricate handle that’s sure to dress up every bit of food you prepare and serve. You might recognize a small nod to old silver serving pieces in the design of the handles, and you’d be spot on, as the designer drew her inspiration from the silver collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

These two round mirrors are especially suited to a more casual atmosphere, as their frames are coated in silicone. Think of the larger 20″ mirror above a bathroom sink or console in a hallway.
