Just how fun are these handmade boxes by Danish company nunabee? They would hold all manner of knickknacks, office supplies, accessories, etc., and cheer you up while doing so. Messenger bags are okay, but what about one that won’t tip over when you set it down? That problem is solved by Japanese brand Abrasus: a triangular shape keeps the bag upright and allows you a bird’s-eye view of your contents when you unzip, allowing you to find your things efficiently. There are inside movable dividers for organization and an outside vented pocket allows you to see (and hear) smaller items.

Well, if the MoMA Store is carrying a Spork, then you know it’s an acceptable utensil to have in your everyday bag, camping backpack, or travel carry-on. Should you see anyone turn up their nose at your use of an orange, swiveling Spork and/or Knife, simply inform them that Wei Young designed the set in 2012 out of BPA-Free plastic and metal. Or just smirk in self-satisfaction at your preparedness: you have an eating utensil, after all, and it’s clean. Or flip them the bird, it’s up to you.

Just in case you’re in the market for not-inexpensive wall art, take a look at the Neon Alphabet letters from Bernadette Deddens and Tetsuo Mukai of London-based Study O Portable. Each 10″ letter is made from borosilicate glass tubes and patinated fine silver; these materials reflect “ambient light as a frozen spectrum of deep, rich color.” The price is per letter, so don’t go getting your heart set on buying enough letters for your favorite quote.

These wooden boards are for serving rather than for cutting, which makes sense once you notice the nicely crafted recessed rectangles (hence the ‘Rothko’) and how well the different sizes would mix and match for an architecturally minimal presentation. Made from sustainable panga panga wood, the Rothko Serving Boards were designed by Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune and produced by Botswana furniture maker Peter Mabeo working in collaboration with local artisans.

This might not be to everyone’s taste considering its very utilitarian appearance, but it certainly will come in handy to anyone who tends to misplace their keys or other small, important things. Have you ever walked into a kitchen showroom like Bulthaup or Poggenpohl? If you have, you’re familiar with their customized drawer organizational systems, and you may have even (metaphorically) drooled over the sleek lines of perfect boxes in which to place your utensils, spices, plates, and pans. Dropping $60k to $80k for kitchen cabinets is unfortunately much more than many of us can afford, and, sadly, we say goodbye to such lovely drawer interiors, thinking they are beyond our budgets.

Here’s a planter that alludes to the traditional shape of the humble terra cotta pot, however, rather than hiding the dirt and roots, it puts the plant’s root system on display for all to see.
