Lineage Pillows

Looking for a few accent pillows that don’t scream ‘HELLO, LOOK AT ME!’? Join the club. Linear patterns are always a safe bet, and stay in the neutral camp when done with simple color options like red, grey, and black. Say a quiet, dignified ‘hello’ to the Lineage Pillow collection from Cofield. The two patterns play with traditional American quilt block patterns to create a “graphic representation of an arrowhead and the whirling blades of a windmill.”

Rewrite Desk

This writing desk makes an appropriate spot for bills, correspondence (if you still use snail mail) and, more likely, your laptop. Reclaimed oak and FSC certified white oak (or locally sourced maple) legs and base combine to give a nice warmth and a traditional nod to a modern silhouette. There’s one dovetail drawer for desk accessories.

Night Light Galaxy

Sorry, I can’t help but share certain space imagery applied to ordinary household goods. You’ve seen the Night Light Moon, Earth, but this one has a portion of the Galaxy on its translucent disc, and it’s only $6! Calm down, there’s enough for everyone. For the bathroom, hallway, bedroom, etc. (I swear my home would look like a crazy Cosmologist’s if I didn’t have a little bit of restraint.)

Radio Dock

Finally, the Radio Dock by Jonas Damon is available. Nostalgic styling provides a spot for your iPhone to rest while charging on your desk, countertop or nightstand. And, see that radio graphic on the phone? That’s the Public Radio App, which finds up to seven public radio stations within a 50-mile radius. Unfortunately (as of today) it keeps crashing, which is disappointing, but fingers crossed it’ll be up and running with no snags soon.

Sixagon Table

Misewell has been featured before, but this table needs its own space in the spotlight. Whether you use it as a stool or side table, the steel construction means you’ll not be worried about water rings, dings, or any other damage. Available in black, ivory, or red tomato powder coat.

Lunar Wall Calendar 2014

If you’re asking yourself ‘why do I need a lunar calendar’ you’re asking the wrong question. One word: werewolves. Just kidding. Tides, gardening, curiosity, whatever the reason, know exactly which phase the moon is in with this wall calendar by Katheren Belle over at Schoolhouse Electric. And, yes, it’s accurate; the dates and positions of the lunar phases are from the Circular published by the Nautical Almanac Office at the U.S. Naval Observatory. Also, if you’ve no room on the wall (or no money), here’s a website that shows all lunar phases, past and present: MoonConnection.

Chuck Wood Storage

What’s this round, iron object for? Wood storage, of course, as the photo above shows. It’s perfectly sized for kindling and other small logs for the many fires you’ll light this fall/winter season. The powdercoated iron loop floats just above the ground on angled legs. Also, five imaginary dollars goes to whoever can think of the best use for this offseason.

Turn Tables

Lucky you, these tables (and all other Blu Dot furniture) are 20% off their regular price until November 10th. Maybe you just need one table beside your favorite chair to set your drink upon, or maybe you need a few to scatter around for laptops, lamps and books. As each table is made from solid Acacia wood, they’re hefty and will react to changes in temperature.

Frame Bag

Anytime the name of Konstantin Grcic is mentioned, I sit up and take notice. So, yeah, it’s not a surprise that your eyes are landing on this Frame Bag he designed for Maharam. Intended as an exercise for unrestricted expression, Maharam asked a few designers to create a bag suited to their personal needs. Mr. Grcic answered with this carryall that displays its architecture on its exterior; the PVC webbing creates a strong frame while the inner nylon skin is lightweight and soft to the touch.

Complete Carving Set

Vegans, ignore this post. Just skip on down to the next one. Now, omnivores, it’s not even Halloween and here we are talking about Thanksgiving. What gives? Well, it’s better to be prepared and get what you need when it’s in stock than wait until the last minute when it’s all gone. As a case in point, this Complete Carving Set by Joseph Joseph was in stock when I bookmarked it last week, and now it’s not.

However, you can purchase the non-slip, multi-function chopping board (a.k.a. Cut&Carve™ Plus, $18) and the 8” carving knife and a 7.5” carving fork which join neatly together with magnets and store safely inside a protective sheath (a.k.a. Duo™ Carve, $30) separately, or put your name on the waiting list for when the set is back in stock.

    Fold Room Divider

I don’t know about you, but it’s extremely rare to come across a room divider that elicits any kind of pleasant surprise, much less a wish to fork over a few hundred euros. However, truth be told, this one is pleasantly surprising, and thank goodness I’ve no room for it, otherwise my credit card would have an additional €365 on its balance right now.

So, if you need to create a space within a space, just fold and unfold this lightweight room divider to create some privacy, whether it be for a temporary guest room, a home office or maybe even a semi-walk-in closet area. The soft, felt-like fabric absorbs sound and the angular shape is spot-on for any modern interior.

    Jeeves Coat Rack

Cooler weather means jackets and coats, so if you’re not prepared with adequate storage near the front door, now’s the time to get it all sorted. This coat rack by Kay + Stemmer combines four essentials: large hooks for jackets/coats, small hooks for keys and such, an enclosed shelf for mail, and a mirror to make sure you’re presentable. Everything you need all in one spot. And, thankfully, it’s on sale right now over at DWR (reg. $275).

    Pieces of Time Wall Clock

No numbers needed, this clock simply tells the time with 12 pie-shaped ash wood inlays. The wood grain differs slightly with each section, giving a subtle nod to the standard clock image without sacrificing its minimal face. The Pieces of Time Wall Clock is produced by Discipline, and, if you’re in the UK/EU region, you may purchase the clocks directly from their website.

    Femme Fatale

I’m sure you’d have fun guessing what this is, but I’ll save you the trouble: it organizes scarves. Attach the leather holder to a coat hanger, pull your scarves through the star shaped incisions, and voilà! Storage for your precious scarves. And, don’t go thinking this is just for the ladies, I know some of you guys are stylish enough to sport a few scarves now and then (or at least when it’s cold).
