Isoline Travel Set

If you have half a grand to spare, then you’ll probably want to spend it on a travel pillow and blanket, because, hey, why not? In reality, if you are actually in the market for a travel set, you’ll definitely be able to find several that are in the two digit price range, but I’d wager you’ll not find many that have such a pleasing geometric pattern. There’s also a pocket inside the blanket for your phone or eye mask- clearly that warrants the extra few hundred, right? Perhaps add it to your list of things to buy when you get your next raise/promotion/winning lottery ticket.

City Boy Picnic Grill

Talk about a truly portable little grill, this one designed by Klaus Aalto measures 7.1″ x 7.1″ with a height of 8.7″. I don’t know about you, but that might just be the smallest (decent) grill I’ve ever seen. If you’re still planning on picnicking in the park this summer, it’d be worth the money.

Ready Hook with Mirror

Why not combine a coat hook and mirror? After all, we all need an extra glance at ourselves to make sure we’re presentable. The rounded shape of the hook ensures your coat collar or scarf will keep its shape. Available in six colors.

Tablo Tables

These tables have that soft minimal look that’s often hard to find. The rounded wooden legs contrast nicely to the sharp edged plastic top, and you’ll also be happy to hear the legs are easy to assemble for transport or storage. Available in large or small, black or white.

Hardiman Street Extension

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s got the most spatial tricks of them all? Not only is this extension by ODR architects in Melourne, Australia, superbly done (just take a look at the before picture), but they’ve also employed mirrors in various areas to increase visual space and light. Case in point, the kitchen backsplash and on walls- both of which trick the eye into seeing double the space. And, if you’ve got any bad memories of 80’s interiors that used mirrors in an unfortunate way, this place will have you seeing shiny, reflective surfaces in an entirely new light. A few more photos below from Architectism.

Cylinder Shakers

You’ve seen these before, but now these salt and pepper shakers from Ladies & Gentlemen Studio have black and white high density food-safe plastic cores so you know which one’s which. No messing around with extraneous design elements here- just the bare-bones cylinder will do, with a cork stopper plug to keep contents inside. Available in Copper, Brass, and Aluminum with a radial polish and protective coating to maintain shine.

Malle W. Trousseau Kitchen Set

What in the world? $5,800! That’s extraordinarily expensive for a set of kitchen tools, so you say. Yes, it is, but this set is the ultimate set, and you’ll see why in a second.

The Malle W. Trousseau is a collection of the very best utensils from around the world. Inspired by their daughter leaving home and needing her own kitchen items, French couple Isabelle Mathez and Frederic Winkler created this trousseau by selecting each item for its “unparalleled functionality, beauty, and quality.”

When you think about not needing to replace or add to the collection, perhaps ever, and that it would most likely last more than a lifetime, that price tag starts to make a lot of sense. More of the trousseau below.

Flow Radio and Speaker

What is this odd, clear plastic box that looks like something familiar? Note the round speaker, and the dial on top.. that’s right, it’s a portable FM radio and amplifier, if you can believe it. The transparent casing enhances the minimalist design, with a light to indicate that the unit is turned on (green) or that the power is low (red flashing). Includes four AA batteries, or use an AC adapter (not included).

Night Sky Notebooks

Somehow I missed Field Note’s Night Sky Edition, and now they’re all sold out. Shoot. Good news, though, that Rare Device still has a few on hand for us to snap up. The 3-pack features French Construction Blacktop covers with constellations and asterisms in silver holographic foil.

Domestic Construction Rugs

Remember the Domestic Construction Rugs? Those digitally dyed nylon and rubber rugs that are machine washable and skid-resistant and look and feel sort of like a mousepad? Well, here they are again, and, just as a reminder, you can purchase them directly from Domestic Construction or from Plastica. My favorites shown below.

Furniture designer David Rasmussen creates several sizes of trays, plates and platters, as well as furniture, in Carbondale, Colorado. Mason Jar Speaker & Amplifier

What’s with the recent resurgence of Mason Jars? Who knows. Those of you who tinker with electronics might scoff at the container, but, for those of us that aren’t quite sure about circuit boards, we can marvel at this completely self-contained little speaker-in-a-jar-we-recognize. There’s something so, well, friendly about it, and though it’s small, it claims to have a pretty big sound.

    White Faux Taxidermy

And you thought the taxidermy trend had passed. That’s not the case, and it’s all thanks to White Faux Taxidermy. As stated, the taxidermy is reassuringly faux, so you’ll not be torn between your morals and your appreciation for one of nature’s great creatures being mounted on your wall. Also, if hot pink and glitter are your favorite things, you’re in luck as some of the pieces have those options.

    Nesting Steel Shot Cups
