Reclaimed Teak

It is what it is- a reclaimed teak rocker. Yet, without an image next to that title you might think of a more antiquated version that would not work in most modern settings. That’s exactly why this particular rocker from SOBU is impressive- so sleek and simple, with straight lines and a slight curve to give comfort and movement.

Bivi Bike Hook

Does your bike still not have a proper storage place at home or at work? You’re probably getting tired of stumbling into it every time you come in the front door (or leaving it lonely and awkward in a weird place at the office) and you need a better solution. Here’s yet another bike hook to consider and it’s very no-nonsense, as it is made from one long steel plate and one simple hook. The Bivi Bike Hook attaches to the wall or to the end of a Bivi bench (which makes it perfect for the workplace).

Feed Your Dreams Piggy Bank

Smart! Here’s a piggy bank that helps kids grasp the idea of “fullness” when it comes to their savings. Instead of rattling around a breakable ceramic bank, this felt bank allows kids to feel how many coins are inside and thus understand the concept of volume. Also, if you’re handy with a sewing machine, consider it for your next DIY project.

Minimis Outdoor Luminaires

What is this, you say… and I know we’re both not talking about the half-dollar coin, but the small, round, metal object next to it. That’s a very tiny-aperture recessed LED indoor/outdoor luminaire- called the 1Puck LP– for your walls, floors, decks, and ceilings. And it packs a powerful punch: it consumes only 1 watt, yet throws a 12 to 14 foot beam. There’s also the Thumbtack LP, which is a tiny-aperture landscape LED luminaire perfect for installing in earth/grass, mulch, or hardscape.

Eno Beech Bowls

Made of solid beech wood, these pieces from Eno are perfect for serving small snacks. The Pecorino 20 cheese board has a cut out in its side for carrying and will add a little height variation to your table area. The Pecorino and Parabol both have handles to make passing and serving your guests a little easier and are well suited for nuts and small crackers.

Miyake Table Lamp

To change position of this lamp, you simply place the base on one of its 24 faces. I’d have to see this in person to really know how easy it would be to maneuver, but I do like the simplicity of base-stem-light with no extra joints or pivots. Also, is there something a little golf-like about the faceted white base and club-ish head?

Accordion Document Holder

No matter how organized your paper-free life might be, there are still documents and papers that you need to keep on hand (just in case zombies destroy the power grid). And, what better way to keep them organized than with an accordion file that has a nice orange-to-white color gradation? An elastic band keeps the 10 pockets closed.

I Eight Sum Pi Plates

If you’re a mathematical smarty pants, then you know the equation on this plate translates into “I ate some pie”… sort of funny, no? Perhaps this set of 2 plates would be the perfect housewarming gift to anyone who has an appreciation of math and/or round pastry. There’s also a dish, if you want to complete the set further.

Pendel vs. Suitor

And, now, we have a loveseat vs. loveseat scenario, with each 2-seater sofa having similar proportions and styling, especially in their higher backs and curved corners. The bases and fabric are completely different, of course, but please play along with me here in guessing which one costs $2,301 more, and do ignore the fabric when making your guess…

Water From A Stone

No need to ask favors for watering your plants the next time you leave on a week long trip, this handblown glass container will do the job. Fill the ‘stone’ with water, cork it up, and then place it into a planter, making sure it’s slowly dripping water onto the plant’s roots. It will seep water out over the course of 3 to 4 days, keeping your plants refreshed and happy when you’re away. Each ‘stone’ holds 7oz (207ml) of water.

Brass Clip Number

The Midori collection over at baum-kuchen has me adding a few desk accessories to my shopping list, namely, these brass clip numbers. Each clip is made of solid brass and could be used as a bookmark/place holder or simply to keep small paper items together. I think they’d be handy in a planner to mark out months for easy reference.

    Nourishmat

I’m a little late in posting this, so you might have seen it around, but, thankfully you’ve still got 5 days to back it if you haven’t already. The Nourishmat is a grow-your-own garden mat that makes it easy to get veggies growing in your backyard. Simply roll the mat out on some garden soil, push in the seedballs, and hook the mat up to the hose. Voilรƒย ! It takes all the guesswork out of gardening. For you, your kids, your neighbors, etc. For more info, visit Earth Starter’s Nourishmat website.

    Stainless Steel Growler

You might like your draft beer, but do you like it enough to have your own growler? Maybe, probably, whatever your answer might be, the point is, if you’re going to use a growler, this stainless steel one is much lighter than its glass relatives and will keep your beer colder, longer. A silicone sealed lid keeps contents fresh. Also, fyi, Popular Mechanics did a lab test to see how well stainless steel growlers held up to abuse, this one included.

    Archery Tacks

Perhaps your bulletin board needs a few of these arrow tail tacks? They have a fancier look than the more primitive stick-and-feather variety (GOT fans, you know what I’m talking about here), but there’s nothing wrong with a little gold amongst your notes and favorite pictures. Sold in a set of 3.
