Snooze

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve dropped my phone while trying to turn off my alarm in the mornings- it’s got to be in the hundreds by now (coordination is impaired when you’re half asleep, after all). That’s where this alarm dock comes in- it’s got a huge, functioning snooze bar that’s easily hit when you want just a few more minutes of shut eye.

Heaven Freestanding Stepladder

While this stepladder is a bit above the average budget, it’s really a wonderful object. Without the normal A-frame support, the ladder seems to float and the slight narrowing towards the top gives the illusion of the stepladder reaching upwards. The flat base gives structural stability.

Wave Cabinet

Whoa, do you see all the decorative hand-carving on this cabinet? Maybe you shy away from embellishment on your larger pieces of furniture, but I find myself drawn towards the details. Made by the company Manulution and designed by Salih Teskeredzic, each cabinet is made from solid European wood (walnut and cherry logs are bought directly from villagers in Bosnia) and is produced in two versions: one with a spindly stainless steel base and the other with wheels. Read more about the company’s history on Manulution’s website.

Tomorrow Planner Large

Some of us have found that planners aren’t always to our liking- unnecessary sections, small daily layouts and bad font/color decisions can be irritating. That’s precisely why this Tomorrow Planner seems like something worth considering. It has open-dated, perpetual month views (13 sheets), week views (56 sheets), blank pages (18 sheets) and list pages (18 sheets), but most importantly, just look at all that room on the weekly view. There’s lots of space for notes and/or drawings. And, perhaps yellow isn’t your favorite color, but keep in mind it’ll always be easy to spot in your bag or on your desk.

Chad Wys Portrait Cushions

Strange pillows, you say? Well, let’s just take a closer look. In collaboration with artist Chad Wys, mineheart is offering these digitally printed portrait cushions that are delightfully weird- and one that’s altogether creepy. Using similar imagery to classic old masters paintings, each design plays around with parts of the face to create a strange mix of digital erasure and traditional portrait painting. Interesting.

Felt Tray

If you’re not in need of a tray or two to catch miscellany around your home or office, congratulations, you deserve a tip of the hat. For the rest of us, a felt tray would be an excellent spot to keep our smaller devices, keys, wallet, remotes, etc. The felt material would soften the clatter of contents, and give you a designated catch-all for whatever you deem appropriate.

Recycled Wooden Pallet Hanging Lamp Shade

What might be made from wooden pallets? Lamp shades, of course! There’s a little assembly required, but that means less shipping costs from the UK, so can those complaints and count your cash. No gluing, screwing, or hammering needed, just click each piece in place. Each shade is slightly different as wooden pallets vary, but you can pick the color of elastic to unify a set or grouping.

    What is it?

So, what’s your best guess? It’s around 16″ deep, with one side about 4.5″ in length and the other about 7.5″. It’s not a table per se, but it does function as a surface. (Hint: it has something to do with a sofa.)

Sun and Cloud Self-Generating Digital Camera

A self-generating digital camera? That means it’s capable of self-generated power by its own solar panel or charged manually with a hand crank. Don’t worry though, you can manually charge it via USB if you’re lazy and there’s no sun. It can take still shots and video with sounds and has many modern functions with a retro look. Pretty intriguing, to say the least, and some might even say necessary for documenting whatever the future might bring.

    w081t2 Table Lamp

Prepare yourself for a higher-than-normal price tag, and then admire how this lamp hides most of its technical side under a very simple and clean exterior. As a task lamp, rotation and counter balance are necessary, and the designer, Claesson Koivisto Rune, intended to make this lamp self-explanatory and no-nonsense. As he states, “This lamp almost designed itself. Arm, elbow, head. And light.” 30-year rated 9W LEDs equals a very low level of power consumption.
