This chair isn’t new, in fact, it’s been around for a couple of years, but for some reason we’ve missed featuring it. Designed by Shane Schneck for Hay, this chair has a cantilever design that allows for easy stacking. Perhaps more impressively, the lack of two front legs means the seat of the chair can be suspended on a table for easy floor cleaning (see image at designboom). A cross lamination layering pattern gives the Ru Chair “exceptional” strength.

Yes, there are a ton of iPhone amplifiers out there. However, this eco-amp is different in that it is made from FSC Certified 100% Post Consumer paper and can be assembled/disassembled as needed. Think of it as an ultra simple and somewhat temporary option for increasing your iPhone’s sound output. You can, of course, also recycle it when its lifespan is complete.

As summer begins to change into fall, a fire pit for warming chilly hands and feet could be in the cards. How about a nice slice of Swiss to show off your cheese spread? A composite of acrylic resin and powdered bauxite means the material is similar to marble, so think about chilling it ahead of time to keep your cheeses fresh on the table. If you look closely, you’ll see that one hole goes all the way through for easy hanging. And there’s no worries about bacteria or odors as the board is non-porous.

Have a nice weekend (summer is almost over!).

These two ladies have quite the modern/minimal look. Designed by architect David Salmela, the Taavi and Gladys are two great seating options for outdoor areas, especially as both are made from recycled materials (Taavi contains 256 milk jugs and Gladys contains 328). Worried about the comfort level? Remember, sometimes seating is more about the angle and slope of recline than the amount of cushion.
