If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll remember the PD4 ABC Table Lamp posted a couple of weeks ago. This is the bigger floor lamp version, so, of course, it’ll cost you quite a bit more, but let’s focus on its beauty, shall we? The base of this lamp collection was inspired by the vaulted ceilings of the famous building “La Pedrera”, also known as Casa Milà , while the lampshades were influenced by the unique, perforated detail of the chimneys.

How do you feel about Eames furniture outdoors? While it seems like an odd idea, it turns out that the Aluminum Group was promoted as the “leisure group” or “indoor-outdoor group” in the late 1950s, but then was changed to be exclusively indoors. Now Herman Miller has restored the collection to its original intent, with powder-coated frames and outdoor friendly fabrics to withstand the weather.

This is proof that botanicals are excellent as art. Francis Ooi started the “what i see when i run” photography project as a way to fill his blank walls, and now we can all benefit from his endeavor. The posters are affordable too- just $45. Also, check out/follow Francis Ooi’s tumblr for other impressive botanical photography.

This glass cylinder lamp marries old style with modern aesthetics, making it a good choice for an eclectic interior. The clear glass means you should probably opt for Edison style filament bulbs, otherwise you’d be missing the point altogether.

Update: Remember these? Originally posted mid 2010, these salad servers are still available, they just needed an update to the current retailer and price.
How often do you swoon over salad servers? Well, assign Konstantin Grcic the task of designing kitchen and table utensils and suddenly we’re all hearing our hearts thump. These are part of the Passami il Sale collection from Konstantin Grcic and Serafino Zani.

If you’re not incredibly gifted with gardening, these kits might be your sort of thing. The recycled steel box contains two full crops of seeds, a soilless growing medium, a bamboo lid, and, of course, directions. Your salad-ready, USDA-certified organic sprouts will be ready for harvesting in around 7-14 days. Not to encourage failure, but the container might be useful for other organizational purposes if you decide to put an end to your windowsill garden. You have your choice between a Spice or Veggie Kit (see below for details).

Brendan Ravenhill has yet another lighting option to add to our want lists. The Hex Lamp’s shade is made from bent sheet metal and it spins and rotates to get light right where you want it. Functional and durable, it has a slight industrial feel, yet the modern shape lends itself to providing a nice sharp contrast to wherever it’s placed.

So, if you like slightly-tinted glassware, such as the Future Glass Set by Peter Svarrer, check out these glasses by Klaus Rath for Stelton. Plus, good news, they’re slightly less expensive: the Tall Simply Glass set is $68* for set of 4 and the regular Simply Glass set is $45 for set of 4.

Here’s another super minimal console table to consider. A stainless steel frame supports a walnut, graphite-on-oak, or honed stone top. There’s not much else to get in the way visually, hence the ‘minimalista’ name tag. And, if the $449 price tag seems a tad too steep, don’t forget the Gear Console ($249).

Oh my, now the diehards of the design set can have an aesthetically pleasing Scrabble game. Scrabble enthusiasts might find fault with aspects of the board (no colors?!), yet there’s no argument that it’s, well, pretty. The storage case, magnetized gameboard, and tiles are made of solid walnut. Now available for pre-order, expected to ship August 2012.

If your iPhone or iPad is continually short on battery life, pay attention. This “plug” charges your device without an electrical cable, so you can top up your battery on the go (or maybe keep it just for emergencies). It gives an iPhone 30% of battery capacity and fully charges an iPod to ~100%.
