Park Lounge Chair & Ottoman

Is it perhaps time to focus on an investment piece for your lounge area, specifically, a lounge chair? While originally intended to protect the sitter from cold drafts and trap the heat from a fire, wing chairs are now excellent choices for when you need a little seclusion in a large open space. The Park Lounge Chair is a new take on the classic wing/wing-back chair and features a molded foam body with elastic webbing to ensure comfort. And, of course, the silhouette and proportions are nothing short of elegant.

Chinoiserie Tray

Spring fever is now spreading fast and furious, and this tray might just fit the bill for adding some visual greenery in your home. Åry has been manufacturing birch wood trays in Sweden for over 50 years, and with Michael Angove’s drawing as its decoration, it’s a winner for sure.

Glass Beverage Dispenser

Instead of refilling your guests’ glasses every five seconds, add this dispenser to your spring/summer soiree and sit back and enjoy yourself. The handmade glass beaker holds seven quarts of your favorite drink and is topped off with a natural cork cap. (Do note that the spigot is unfortunately silver-tone plated plastic- but I suppose that’s what you get for $50).

Super Long Stretched Cowhide

This is so strange. What appears to be an unnaturally long cowhide is actually a rubber backed fabric digitally printed with a photographic image of a real cowhide. Like I said, strange. The image is detailed enough to see individual hairs, and because it’s fabric, it’s washable and easy to keep clean. Obviously, it’s non-allergenic as well. Intended for long rooms and corridors, it measures up to 380cm long, which is just about 12.5 feet.

Grado Wall or Stake Thermometer

On this first day of spring, perhaps you will consider an outdoor thermometer. Sure, some/most of us rely on our smart phones to tell us the weather, but there’s something exceptionally nice about just looking out the window and knowing what to expect when we step outside. Available in a wall-mounted window thermometer ($43.79) as well as standing thermometer with stake ($81.39).

Dip-Dyed Baguette Boards

Who knew adding a little milk paint to a plain serving board would make it so much better? The folks that made these, that’s who. A little stripe action and suddenly the serving board lives on the wall instead of in a cabinet. Made from Pennsylvania sycamore.

PD4 ABC Table Lamp

This lamp has long been on my wish list, and surprisingly, it’s actually somewhat affordable. To share a bit of its history, the PD4 lamp was originally designed by Barba Corsini in 1955 for the loft space within Antonio Gaudi’s famous building “La Pedrera”, also known as Casa Milà, in Barcelona. To learn more, see the video below. There’s also a floor lamp version, which is equally desirable, (PD2 Floor Lamp) though it’ll cost you a few more $100 bills.

Sculptural Cork Container

Seeing as it’s about time to get out the garden tools, these cork containers could be something to add to your shopping list. Potted plants are oh-so-necessary for small patios and balconies, not to mention the indoor territory, but it’s often hard to find pots that fit within the modern aesthetic… that don’t cost an arm and a leg, that is. Now, if you should choose these cork containers, you’d not need to worry one bit, as they’re a natural material, and they would blend right in with their surroundings. It should also be noted they’d do just fine as a storage container as well.

    Reminder Rings

Always forgetting to pay the bills or call your mom (or ‘mum’)? These rings will stay on your finger longer than a piece of string, and they spell out exactly what needs doing. They’re made from stretchy silicone, like the various bracelets that some people wear, and the set includes these inscriptions: Take Pills, Call Mum, Buy Gift, Return Book and Pay Bills. (It should be noted that it’s probably best to use these for the purpose in which they’re intended rather than some sort of fashion statement.)

    Panamericana Chair

This chair probably isn’t new to your eyes, as there are several versions floating all around this side of the world. Industry Of All Nations has combined the many versions into one “hybrid conclusion” and called it the Panamericana chair, named after the Panamericana road, of course. Made from teak wood, the chair can be used indoors or out with low maintenance, and they fold for easy transport or storage.
