Smart! These handlebars have an integrated basket, meaning less rattling as you’re out and about. Made from sturdy aluminum tubing, this mounts just like a normal handlebar (removable faceplate stem required) and can hold up to 60 lbs. For those of you in Europe, the Bike Porter (available through flow berlin, € 135) is in a similar vein.

So, take a look at this vintage inspired task lamp. Industrial and quite authentic looking, isn’t it? Thankfully, there’s no worries as to old wires and faulty electrics, as this baby is brand new. Three swivel ball joints allows for proper lighting while the heavy stone base keeps things stable.

This rug needs Also sprach Zarathustra, Op.30 to accompany each new viewing. It’s a moon rug, so therefore I’m obligated to wax poetic nonsense regardless of whether you or I can afford it (if I could afford it, I would pretend I was an astronaut every single day). Interestingly enough, it’s actually a re-edition from the ’80s that comes from Oscar Tusquets’ La Tierra and La Luna rugs. Photographic techniques have improved since then, obviously, allowing the moon in its waxing phase to have more definition as well as having browns and beiges to give a warmer appearance.

Hmm, I’m not sure how functional this dispenser is compared to a traditional version, but it sure beats the heck out of it in terms of interest. Made from die-cut aluminum, you hold the dispenser in one hand while pulling/cutting with the other (see note above regarding functionality). It’s certainly minimal, and has the ‘ooo, what’s that’ factor.

This might look like it’s been carefully dip-dyed, but it’s actually digitally printed, which explains the vibrant colors and perfect pattern. Why-oh-why does the local art supply shop not have this in stock? An eraser on one end of a solid wood block, and a natural hair brush to sweep away the rubbings… it makes so much sense, and is so simple and utilitarian (=lovely) that you’d think it’d be a no brainer to have a big box of them available. If anyone sees a U.S. retailer carrying this, please let me know.

Designed by Jonas Wahlstrom, this sustainable shesham plank table has just the right balance of wood and iron to give the industrial vibe without getting too heavy metal, if you know what I mean. The architectural iron ‘W’ base changes shape depending on your sight line; it adds an interesting visual touch. A water-based clear lacquer sealant protects the wood, though coasters are recommended to protect the finish from temperature extremes and spills. Best of all, the price is under the $1G mark.
