Soap dishes aren’t the most important things, I know, but these caught my eye. The Scout Soap Dish states ‘I PLEDGE TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE, TO BE TRUE AND BRAVE’ which is a rather nice reminder, don’t you think?

Just in case you need reminding, this wallet has the phrase ‘MONEY DOES NOT MAKE ME HAPPY’ screen printed on its various folds. In 2010 Droog started purchasing leftovers from liquidation sales and turning them over to designers for creative re-interpretation. Entitled ’saved by Droog’, the project’s editions are limited by the lot quantity.

Continuing the tradition of featuring a design classic each week (‘Classic Thursdays’ perhaps?), we turn our attention to Prouvé’s Cité Lounge Chair.
Designed by Jean Prouvé in 1930, the Cité Lounge Chair has broad leather arm straps and a molded sheet steel frame. This chair was one of Prouvé’s earlier furniture designs, and typifies his rational-sculptural aesthetic. The strong lines with a reserved color palette all lead to a subtle modern look that looks just as current as it was eighty years ago.

How’s this for a minimal firewood holder? It’s made from one strip of steel and features pine runners along the bottom to protect the floor.

Besides being easy on the eye, this chair from e15 is also worth noting for its construction method: it’s completely screwless. Made from 4mm thin oak-veneered plywood, the Houdini Chair is both visually and physically light and perfectly complements all e15 tables. There’s several photos showing how it’s constructed (The Making Of), which is as fascinating as it is laborious.
Luckily, there’s a collection by Stefan Diez, of which the Armchair, Lounge, and Stool particularly stand out.

Totes! Everyone loves a tote, right? This Crossword Puzzle Tote is perfect for replacing those unnecessary shopping bags, as well as those rare moments where you’re bored out of your mind. Hint: all the words can be found in the galleries of the National Museum of Singapore, and it also comes with an answer booklet in case you get stuck.

If you’ve never heard of Three Potato Four, and you like antiques and flea market finds, you’re in for a treat. Besides having their own brick and mortar store located in Philadelphia, PA, they’ve now teamed up with Urban Outfitters to design 3-P4, an eight-piece home collection inspired by the items from their shop. Stu Eli, who owns and runs the store with his wife Janet Morales, says their aim was to create items “manufactured for everyday use”.

Update: The Kiosk Table lamp is on sale for $190 now at DWR, which is a heck of a lot more affordable than the regular price of $380.
This oval shaped lamp would look lovely in any room. It’s substantial as far as size and materials, yet the shape lends itself to working well on sideboards or nightstands. Inspired by classic mid-century Danish lighting.
