How. cute. are. these. For real, at these prices, I’m seriously thinking I could find a spot for one somewhere in our kid-less abode. They’re just too darn adorable.

The first impression of this tufted back sofa is one of a cloud. The low, horizontal proportions and generous scale looks worthy of a serious sit-down-and-ponder (or nap), while the clean geometry of its base and feet keeps it feeling firmly modern.

iPhone owners, take note, a new case/wallet has entered the picture. A leather moleskine-like outside plus an aluminium mounting device equals subdued cool protection. The outside flap could be handy in deterring any prying eyes next to you on the train or subway too.
Several nice colors to choose from… some shown below.

Using only surplus yarns, each of these rugs by Alicia D. Keshshian is tied in a traditional Tibetan knot and GoodWeave certified. There’s a few different color ways available in each of the different styles, but keep in mind that most sizes are around 24″x36″. All rugs are zero waste.

Inspired by Galileo’s first telescope made in 1609, this little guy has the same focal length of 1 meter, yet is appropriately updated with ‘modern optical technology’ and a contemporary design. Now, whether you use it to for astronomical observations as Galileo did or neighborly spying is completely up to you.

If you’ve got $1,275 to spend, listen up. Dutch designer Maarten Baasโ Real Time exhibition in Milan this past April is now on Blu-Ray*. That’s right, you can now own a 12 hour long movie in which a performer acts out the motion of a digital clock by painting over and wiping off panels of a glass screen.

You are probably familiar with the regular 4 legged Ant Chair, but take a look at the 3 leg version. I think the shape of the chair looks a little more interesting with only 3 legs to balance on, and considering it’s slightly less expensive than its sibling, this guy might just be the one to go for.

Liking the look of this Metallic Fatboy Bag? Available in either a small ($139) or medium size ($169), it’s got that utilitarian look that might be perfect for your day to day needs. Plus, with its shoe sole bottom, you can probably afford to throw it around some without worrying about minor scuffing.

I’ve stated my love for tea towels before, and this triangle drawing has me itching to ‘add to cart’. Also, check out the Triangle Pillow ($45) with the same design on natural linen.
Original drawing of triangles in an indigo blue ink on 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton fabric.

Here’s a nice minimalist mailbox that can be mounted on a post or railing. Handmade from left-over scraps of galvanized metal sheets, each mailbox features rolled metal edges and stainless steel and aluminum fasteners for rust prevention. A wall-mount version will be available soon, so check back if that’s what you need.

Maybe you’ve seen this already, maybe you haven’t. Either way, it’s still the only 98% biodegradable pen in the world. The body is composed of bio-plastic, the ink reservoir from biodegradable fiber, and the ink itself is ACMI certified non-toxic. Not enough for you? Well, it’s also produced at a wind-powered facility in the US, so that should be enough to impress.
Designed to decompose in a compost facility within 180 days.

The Waterhouse at South Bend in Shanghai is a wonderful contrast of old and new. Chinese architects NHDRO have thoughtfully renovated a disused Japanese army headquarters into a modern boutique hotel, keeping the original concrete and brick walls while adding current materials and details. Might be worth bookmarking if you’ve got an older building renovation in your future. The Waterhouse is located by the new Cool Docks development on the South Bund District of Shanghai. If you’re interested in staying there, bookings are available through Design Hotels.
