When looking through a recent issue of Dwell, the “Main Chaude” Oven glove caught my eye. Lo and behold, through another search, I found the retailer again and got sucked into browsing through their whole site. They have quite a bit of little textile jewels for the kitchen and dining zones. Two of my favorites are this glove and placemat:

What appears at first as a vase is actually a stack of 4 unique bowls. Could be a handy thing to have for serving or storing snacks/food, or maybe even on your desk as a receptacle for office supplies. Totem is made by hand, so keep in mind that each one is “perfectly imperfect.”

Sure, you can find marquee lights around and about at antique shops and such, but with these you can pick whatever letters you want and there’s an ‘@’ symbol too. Immediate gratification vs. original signage? Tough choice.

Crocheted Rubber! Apparently they feel soft and silky, and given that they’re made from neoprine rubber, it’s an elegant contrast of traditional methods (i.e. crochet) with unexpected materials. They’d be excellent little bowls to hold all sorts of things given their strength and durability.

These two photos of a 70’s villa are uber-minimal/sparse, but the other shots show a quirky side. Refurbished by interior architects Renaud De Poorter and Femke Holdrinet, the home still has the bones of the original build, but the updates make it feel thoroughly modern and livable. It’s quite the showpiece.

Indoor or outdoor, this chair has some style. The knitted fabric reminds me of the Slow Chair, but, of course, this chair is a little more angular to be mistaken for its sibling. The cantilevered seat makes me wonder how much ‘give’ it has when you sit in it; does it bounce a little perhaps?

Hello, hello. These mathematically based stainless steel spheres transport electrical current while the LED lights evenly spread warm white light around a room. It’s not often that stainless steel can appear both delicate and strong, but it certainly seems so in this case. Available in three sizes, this light is sure to fit any room, but with the smallest starting at $1,869.00 it unfortunately won’t fit every budget.

There’s quite a few fetching things about this living area in Ranjana and Naeem Khan’s Soho loft, the least of which is the (still) lovely Pouf Capitonne that we’ve featured before. Considering the super-wide/super-low green sofa and the many modern classics (see below), it’s sort of surprising to see the peach/rose undertones in the curtains and carpet. Talk about a color that most of us wouldn’t think of, peach is it. Just goes to prove that sometimes unlikely color combinations work well, so widen your color horizons the next time you’re considering updating a room.

Okay, so some of these aren’t ‘new’ as in brand-spanking-new, but seeing as we’ve only covered the Headboards by Mina Javid and some earlier wall graphics, it’s definitely time for some serious coverage. You know about Threadless teaming up with Blik, but did you know about Third Drawer Down jumping on the wagon too? This is where your heart goes pitter-pat at the thought of placing some odd-yet-wonderful graphics around your home. From very small Rub-Ons to large wall decals, there’s quite the collection to choose from.

Two are better than one… at least in this case. There’s a ton of totes available these days, but this is the first I’ve seen doubled up so that you can organize your items. The canvas ‘bridge’ that conects the two totes can be used to hold jackets or yoga mats or whatever other larger items you have. I’d say it might be an easy DIY project as well, if you’ve got two of the same sized totes and an aversion to buying more. If you’d rather just plonk down the cash for this one, it’s available in natural, black, and orange.
