Bubble Bank

I’d wager a guess that you’d want to treat this more as a sort of objet d’art than an actual functioning bank as you’d have to break it to cash in, which would be a mighty shame. The way things are going some coins will obsolete soon anyways, so you could get a start on your own tiny museum of pennies, nickels and dimes.

Interior: Office, Bookshelves

Another inspiration image from my personal cache… as much as I love how minimalism looks, it’s pretty unrealistic for most of us. The lived in feel of this office feels welcoming and I really like how every available inch of wall space is used for storage or display.

Interior: Black kitchen, Brown sofa

This is by far one of my favorite spaces. The black/brown/grey color scheme is classic and I love how simple and eclectic it feels.

Cafe America Chair from Grain

Chain-link fencing for a chair? Well, sure, why not… though I wonder if it would snag your clothes.

Haptic Lab Quilts, Soft-Maps

I might be late on the bandwagon to see Emily Fischer’s Soft-Maps, but it’s better late than never. Her to-scale maps quilted onto blankets are pretty wonderful. Custom orders are available and word on the street is that the quilts make excellent gifts for big life events (weddings, etc.). Readymade has an HDYGTFAJ interview with her, I recommend it.

DIY Chandelier from Lindsey Adelman

What!? I can hardly believe my eyes! Lindsey Adelman (of Bubble Chandelier fame) has provided instructions on how to make your very own chandelier. Be still my heart. Morgan of The Brick House (pic of hers lower right) made one and estimates the cost to be around $120. Freaking amazing.

Personality Socks

These are such a cute idea for protecting floors. Too bad they’re only available to European countries right now, but soon enough there’ll be some US stores that pick them up. (Will update post when that happens.)

An amusing play with associations. We all know these sterotype socks and associate certain human personalities with them. The “Personality Socks” show impressivly how strong these associations can be, as they easily turn your chair into a snob, lady, small town boy or a good girl… An amusing protection for your floor, but also criticizing our prejudging on the basis of banal things like socks.

Available in sets of four equal socks.
They fit legs with a perimiter of 11-13,5 cm.
