I sort of love this prism-shaped light. It’s a good size and has a good amount of bang for the buck. There’s also the Nigel Lamp that a slightly different shape but same price.

Moleskine Colour A Month Daily Planner Box Set

T minus 24 hours until the official gift unwrapping begins, so if you’re still rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off, maybe snap some of these up from your local bookstore and call it a day. Moleskines are great, and despite the mixed reviews on this set, they’re pretty much the perfect gift for artists and note takers, or just someone that always seems unorganized (don’t say that to their face though).

Mark’s recent post reminded me that somehow this iPhone case had missed a mention here on BLTD. Although more expensive than some of the other cases on the market, it’s certainly more luxurious and will keep your iPhone safe and sound in style.

Available in tyrian, ecru, black, green, grey, and violet.
5″w x 3.5″h x .5″h.

Loft Condiment Set

Whether for you or someone on your gift list, these wooden utensils would be a nice set to add to a tabletop setting.

Handcarved from fallen Pennsylvania hardwoods, the sweeping, modernist lines are a perfect counterpoint to the minor variations from piece to piece that show the “hand” of the artisan. Set includes Jam Spoon, Chutney Fork and Spreader. Rinse and wipe down after each use.

6″ Long (Spoon), 6 7/8″ Long (Fork), 6 7/8″ Long (Spreader)

Bubble Chandelier

Oh my, what loveliness is this? Traditional-interiors-plus-modern-furnishings product shots gets me every time… too freaking bad that the price is *way* over any budget for a light fixture that I can ever hope to have.

The Bubble Chandelier, featuring hand-blown glass globes and custom hardware finishing, is assembled at Lindsey Adelman’s studio in Brooklyn, NY. The fixture’s dimensions and drop length are chosen to best suit the space. The branching version is modular, making it incredibly versatile and allowing both vertical and horizontal orientations. Professional installation required.

Calendar 2010 (Ghin)

Instead of laying out the year in a grid, this one takes a circular approach. Plus, a lunar calendar is fitted in there too, so you’ll know when you’re going to change into a werewolf.

I decided to lay out the calendar on a single page, making it possible to view the whole year at a glance. Thus enabling the viewer to start making new associations between events and time in general. A lunar calendar is integrated into the layout making it easy to see full and new moons. –ghin.co.uk

Each Calendar is printed on 170gsm semi gloss paper.

They’re porcelain grenade salt and pepper shakers. I’m not going to bother with puns, because you’ll get your fair share if you buy them.

Credit Card Lightbulb

This is sort of a neat gadget. It’s a card that fits in your purse or wallet (it’s just a bit thicker than a credit card) and when you need light, you just push the bulb out and it lights up, while the base of the card acts as a stand. It might be a nice little gift as a stocking stuffer.

* Small lightbulb folds flat for storing your wallet
* Flip up for light
* Batteries included

Webble Active Footrest

Quick, what’s your posture like right now? If it’s as bad as mine, maybe you’ll also be curious as to how this little footrest might help you improve your office ergonomics. I only wish it was a little less office-y looking. Also, how much do you want to bet a co-worker will attempt to use it as a skateboard? That could be entertaining… until they rip a hole in it, or break their wrist/nose/leg.

A movable footrest that rides on four smooth-gliding casters and provides workers with a sweeping 360-degree range of motion. Durable, breathable mesh surface supports feet with or without shoes… It’s specially designed, functional form and grippy mesh surface enable workers to instantaneously place their feet exactly at the angle that fits them best without any adjustment.

Offcut Stool by Tom Dixon

Flat packed and put together by you with no extra screws or glue, this stool sounds like it’s from Ikea… until you see the price. But, hey, if you’re as desensitized as me, $200 for a stool sounds like a bargain, especially after adding in the designer’s name.

“designed by tom dixon, the offcut stool’s elementary form is the result of several innovations; the circular round seat makes clever use of the curved offcuts, its construction requires no additional screws or glue, and the stool is flat packed for ease of delivery.”

dimensions: 17.7″dia x 17.3″h.

Persian Explosion Rug (a.k.a Modello Rug)

Huh? I saw this on Core77 and put an email in to Studio Mango to see when it might be available to buy online, and surprise, surprise, it already is. However, take a look at the price (and retailer). What does this affordability mean? Is the quality maybe not so great? Someone please shed light on this strange occurrence. I get that the material is not wool, so sure, that affects the cost, but I’m not used to a 5’x8′ being under $300. I’m confused and concerned. I’ve been assured that the crazy affordable price is due to the retailer buying up a large amount of the rugs, thereby passing on the savings to all of us lucky ducks. Forgive my original skepticism.

The Persian carpet is a product which has been around for centuries if not a millennium, a product with great tradition and heritage. Never the less its appeal has been decreasing, many young people consider it to be an object for granny´s house. So Studio Mango decided to grab the rug and update it to be ready for the year 2010 without losing touch of its original origin and heritage. A collection of 6 different models and sizes has been taken into production by Umbra.

Designed by Studio Mango for Umbra
75% polypropelene/11% Jute/8% polyester/6% polyester-cotton blend.

24″ x 36″ Accent Rug, $24.99
25″ x 94″ Runner, $99.99
5′ x 8′ Room Size Rug, $219.99
8′ x 10′ Room Size Rug, $499.99

urbnCal 2010 Stockholm

Sure, you could get any ol’ calendar from a big box bookstore with kittens or puppies, but this one might look a bit cooler and be a tad more interesting (nothing against kittens or puppies, of course).

We have zoomed in on the numbers of the city. In urbnCal every date get its own image, an image of a number. JollyGoodFellow (Esa and Lisa Tanttu) has biked and walked through various parts of Stockholm and photographed dresses/numbers plates. The wall calendar is printed in A3 (11,7×16,5 in) one sheet per month. Put the whole stack on a nail, or put the sheets side by side and you’ll get a general view of the year
