This is an unlikely collaboration (in my opinion): a Chilewich iPhone cover…I can’t help but think it’s sort of a stretch to have this particular textile on an iPhone, but I guess it is a durable and tactile surface, so it kind of makes sense.

Impact resistant polycarbonate iPhone� covers are the result of a unique collaboration between Sandy Chilewich and Griffin Technology. Chilewich’s signature mini basketweave vinyl textile is adhered to the two piece Griffin EasyDock� design. These covers provide access to all controls and ports, and allow quick docking without removing the case.

This two family home in Austin uses so many large glass walls that it seems like an open air living space. Inspired by Asian architecture, the architects used large glass sheets to ensure spatial continuity between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Incorporating a body of water that perfectly matches the floor height further extends the space by reflecting light and, with a cluster of water plants carefully positioned so that they can be seen from various viewpoints, it adds a natural element that balances out all the steel and glass. Plus, take a look at that glowing garage and the sail used on the upper level to create a shady outdoor living space.

The exterior walls of the Bercy house are constructed with Thermasteel, panels made from galvanized steel and a unique resin that provide structural framing, insulation, and vapor barrier with an R-29 rating twice the required amount. “We have so much glass that we have to offset it by having very efficient ceiling and wall systems,” says Bercy. “We wanted movable glass walls instead of tiny little sliding glass doors that pop off their tracks all the time,” says Bercy. So he and Chen tracked down the double-glazed, insulated, six-by-nine-foot doors rom a company called Fleetwood. “They’re a little more expensive, but when you slide the heavy doors open, you’re making a profound gesture to leave the house and step outside,” says Bercy. –Dwell

Seeing that Jacob Jensen designed this watch, it’s no surprise really that it’s both simple and elegant. It looks like a modern classic.

Check out this odd trapezoidal wall storage ‘catcher’. I’m not quite sure how it attaches to the wall or how much weight it holds, so you might ask before you buy, but it’s definitely an interesting storage option. It sort of reminds me of the Barnacles by Plodes Studio (in that it shares an organic faceted shape and functions as wall storage).

The Catcher is a practical wall covering. It consists out of as many elements as you like. The elements can be folded together to form one object. The Photos show a Catcher consisting out of eight modules. You can design you own catcher and order the amount of modules you need, or you tell us the size your catcher should have and we will suggest a configuration. The modules can be connected side by side or back to back, they can not be connected side to back.

Customizable storage systems aren’t really a new thing, but Loadbearing’s MShelving does have a certain appeal with its industrial frame with pick-your-own door color options. With somewhat reasonable price points, it could fit your storage needs quite well.

MShelving… allows you to create your own look from a wide range of interchangeable colored steel and wood veneer sliding doors and half- and full- height drawers. MShelving was designed by Mathias Frei of Zurich, and is produced in Switzerland and Italy. It combines a sturdy, fairly industrial-feeling steel shelving system base with a refined, simple and attractive sliding door system… The shelving unit itself is made of galvanized steel. What do you think of this? Sort of like the Twisted Console posted before, this piece by Dylan Gold has a little bit of wonkiness to make for an interesting piece of furniture.
