Wow, you’d think something as simple as sticking a box onto an older row house could not look this beautiful, but somehow it succeeds inordinately well. Check out the last image where you can see the old/original staircase and beyond into the addition. It looks as if they’ve used the existing garden wall as the interior wall, painting it white to differentiate it from the outside. Spectacular.

Yep, James Dyson is at it again. Leave it up to him to improve upon a fan by making it completely bladeless. That’s right, no blades. It instead amplifies and accelerates air (see below) so that it expels 118 gallons of smooth air every second. Very clever.

Air is drawn into the base of the machine. The air is forced up into the loop amplifier and accelerated through the annular aperture, creating a jet of air that hugs the airfoil-shaped ramp. While exiting the loop amplifier, the jet pulls air from behind the fan into the airflow. At the same time, the surrounding air from the front and sides of the machine are forced into the air stream, amplifying it 15 times. The result is a constant uninterrupted flow of cooling air. The Dyson Air Multiplier fan is powered by an energy efficient brushless motor and air speed can be precisely adjusted with a dimmer switch. No blades mean no need for a grill and it’s safe and simple to clean.

Hmm, although the price is a bit dear, this off-kilter console would add a tiny bit of crazy to your room, in a good way…though I suppose it’s up to you to decide if you need any more of that or not.

So. This is looks like a great tote bag for a great price. There were some concerns when it first was revealed wondering about the leather version, if it would split or not, as well as how the bag seems to be suitable for only larger items as smaller things would slip out. And, interestingly enough, someone pointed to a similar bag idea that they received at a 7-eleven in Taiwan. Regardless, tote bags are all the rage nowadays, and this one looks pretty handy. If anyone has any personal ‘I’ve used this bag’ comments, please share. Currently it looks like the leather version is not yet available for sale online.
