Here are some rather quaint paintings of birds…maybe to add to your art collection?
Clarke studied at Central St Martins in the early 80’s and throughout his varied career of being a lecturer, art director, curator and interior design consultant, he has always found pleasure painting birds…These days he gets to paint and draw birds fulltime. The drawings (above) are A4 and the paintings (below) are 10 x 8″ varnished acrylics with the bird sounds also incorporated into the layout. –Art-o-mart

Bring the outdoors inside with this series from Normann Copenhagen’s New Danish Modern furniture collection. The Camping series consists of chairs, table, stool and daybed in moulded beech wood and leather and man-oh-man does it look impressive. It oozes craftmanship; I’d love to see it in person.
Jesper K. Thomsen explains: “The archetypical traditional camping equipment has been my inspiration. The design has a recognition factor that brings the thoughts over to leisure and togetherness, that many think are typical of camping. I like the thought of bringing outdoor pursuits indoors or, perhaps more correctly, freedom in to the living room. At the same time, the icon, camping furniture, has been refined in my interpretation.”

The utilitarian design of this carry case makes me wish I had an important binder to carry around.
Designed as a carry case for the Aluminum Binder, the Wool Felt Binder Case (2007) may also be used on its own as a briefcase, document carrier, portfolio bag or even handbag. The 100% fine wool felt is a quarter-inch thick for maximum protection and exceptional style. With frequent use, the felt will become finer and softer. The hook-and-loop fasteners are durable enough for travel or courier. The landscape format fits European size A3 paper (16.5″x11.75″), while the smaller configuration accommodates A4 or U.S. letter size. Made in Australia.

If you like these stools you better hurry and snap them up fast; currently there are 6 for 50% off at 2modern’s Sample Sale.
Hans Sandgren Jakobsen’s award-winning Gallery was originally designed in 1998 for the Copenhagen Art Association and was meant to be a stool guests could sit on while they enjoyed the paintings on show. Gallery is beautiful in its sculptural simplicity. Hidden behind the minimalist design, however, lies an innovative technique that has made it possible to shape a veneer in several dimensions.

Wrapped in foam, this stool can be rolled onto its various surfaces for different seating experiences. It’s not often you get a playful piece of furniture looking so simple (as in, not bright pink or stripes or what not), so I’d say it’s a wonderful choice for extra seating.
“Each position yields a different seating experience: flat, curved, inclined, and the amusing rocker. It is lightweight, durable and versatile. It can be lined-up as bench or scattered in different positions creating a continuously dynamic landscape.”

Today’s apparently the day for romantic and contemporary talk. These lights strike me as a fun way to add a little color…they would look great above a small dining table or lined up in a row above a counter.
There is something both romantic and contemporary in the simplicity of the naked bulb, believes designer Mattias Ståhlbom, a partner in the internationally acclaimed architecture-design studio TAF, who celebrates the “essence” of the lamp—the socket—in a model he dubs E27 for the Finnish house Muuto. We couldn’t agree more. The colorful silicon rubber cord extends to 4 meters (13.12 feet).
Available in Yellow, Green, Dark Grey, White and Red.
Bulb diameter is 130 mm (about 5 inches).

Out with the old and in with the….er, new, which is a reinterpretation of the old, and that makes it decidedly new. Plus it’ll create a ‘contemporary romantic atmosphere’ and who doesn’t want that?
this table clock is a modern reinterpretation of nineteenth century french fireplace clocks. the unique feature of this clock is how it is supported by its own shadow. memoria is a perfect mix of tradition and innovation in the materials used, production technique, and the contemporary romantic atmosphere it creates. made from laser cut metal. available with a white or black lacquer finish, or stainless steel with a satin gold finish.

This apartment located in New York has a smart solution for keeping clutter at bay: both tables shown above fold away into the walls, clearing up floor space. Especially interesting is the use of color…I love that when the tables are being used, bright swatches of color show, yet when folded away, the space remains pure and white.

These are really quite beautiful lamps, and an altogether smart option for lighting considering the price.

It’s flat packed, and parts are easily slotted. We’re thrilled to re-introduce this utterly cool work, cobranded by the artist and A+R. Each piece is numbered. -A+R
