Geez, I know $1800 for a bed still seems a little steep in price, but considering the price tag used to be $4500, it sounds like a deal.

Most conventional leather bed’s like their sofa counterpart’s suffer from overstyling and excessive padding in order to denote luxury or comfort. Taking a more restrained approach is the Loja Leather Bed (2004), distinctive in its pared-down, sleigh bed form. Skillfully produced in Spain, the bed features light padding over the entire frame to create a soft, cushioned surface that surrounds the user. Large panels of silky, oil-tanned leather the warmest and most supple of cowhide leather’s are used to upholster the frame and are neatly stitched with welted perimeter seams. The headrest features a slight pitch to accommodate comfortable reading or TV viewing.

Holy cow, I love this mirror. Shipping pallets are not usually considered beautiful, but man, if you custom fabricate them into a mirror frame with some old Victorian flair, it certainly becomes an amazing piece.

Millions of pallets are used everyday to move goods across the world. Many times, these pallets come from exotic locations and are made from native exotic woods. But through shipping and clumsy handling, many of these pallets are damaged. A lot of the time they are simply discarded after use. These beautiful samples of another world typically turn into landfill or mulch.

This mirror was made using two partially destroyed shipping pallets. The scars on the lumber tell a story of its travels. While the form is reminiscent of old Victorian french mirrors, its origin is far from gold leaf.
