Check out this interior of the first London outlet of Aesop designed by Studio Ilse. Despite the weird-ish green walls, I’m really liking the clean antique/apothecary feel. There’s also an amazing mirrored cabinet (not pictured) that I might want very badly.

DWR‘s Mattress and Bedroom Sale ends today…just in case you need a new bed and wouldn’t mind saving a little bit of dough.

Designed by acclaimed Italian designer Tino Novati to have a “light and flying” aesthetic, the Icaro Bed (2001) stands at least four inches taller than most standard platform beds (platform is 12″ tall). The result is a lofty aesthetic and a design that facilitates entering and exiting the bed. The wood Icaro Bed features beautifully grained walnut veneer, seamlessly applied over the entire frame. A small 3″ shelf runs the perimeter of both beds, framing the slightly inset mattress.

This folding rocking chair and ottoman is something to seriously consider. It looks pretty good for something so easily transportable/compactible.

Takeshi Nii designed the Ny Rocking Chair and Ottoman in 1958, after he was inspired by an ad for a director’s chair in an archival magazine from the 1930s. Using the same basic structure – a simple folding frame wrapped with durable canvas – he designed Ny to be a lounge chair. Ny, which is pronounced nee and is the Danish word for “new,” remains an innovative concept in folding chairs 50 years after its introduction. At only 14.5 lbs, the Ny folds into a compact 5.5″ form that can stand on its own discreetly in the corner, or be easily picked up and moved wherever an extra lounge chair needed. Said Nii of the design, “I wanted to produce a chair where one can just sit and relax after eating a nice meal.” The Ny Rocking Chair is included in the permanent collection at MoMA.

Two particularly fine examples of Sarah Cihat’s Rehabilitated Dishware:

This is such a lovely light…

The lamp, designed by Ani+Lumigrane, was debuted at IDS08 and was an instant success. Co-created by Frederic Guibrunet, a paper-maker with a decade of practice, and Parisian Didier Boursin, an expert in origami. Their talents combined into a paper explosion of maple leaves that looks gorgeous on and off.

I recently saw this in person and it’s pretty spectacular.
