I’ve been pretty impressed with the quality of designs coming out of West Elm lately. I’m haven’t been the hugest champion of their case goods, but I think their accessories have been spot-on.
These mirrors have a refined blackened frame, and would be perfect in an entry, above a fireplace or above a dresser. The round one (above) is 30″ diameter and $149, while the small rectangular one is 36″ x 24″ and $129. The large one (not shown) is $349, and is not one solid mirror but features smaller mirror tiles.

About three years ago I decided to make the switch from paper files to paper-free living. It satisfies my desire for minimalism, allows me to put my finger on a document with a few clicks if I need it, and it helps me keep clutter down!
True story: When I was buying a home, my mortgage broker asked me for the last 2 years of bank statements, pay stubs, and tax returns. When I emailed her all 78 of those documents 5 minutes later, she was beyond stunned.
Ready to whip your record-keeping into shape? Here’s how I started:

I love this little porcelain tray from West Elm. I think this is the perfect place to put my phone, wallet and keys when I come home after work. It would also be a really cute place for jewelry or make-up or anything that needs a bit of organizing.
$16 for the big one, $6 for the little one. Currently they have free shipping. For $22 you can make out like a bandit and organize to your hearts content!

Hello Fulham, where have you been all my life? This sofa is available in 8, 9 and 10 foot widths! This thing reminds me of a sofa they may have in your hotel lobby and then you wish you had something this comfortable in your own home. It’s so masculine and 70’s. Love it!

Brad Nelson is a contemporary furniture designer working in Carbondale, Colorado. The proportions of his Japenesque line are playful and exaggerated, and the pieces have an intense visual weight to them and I think they’re really interesting. I love the contrasting natural and black wood tones.
Custom pieces also available.

These functional saw-horse legs are usually used for industrial use (2,000 lb capacity!), but they’re simple enough to provide a base for a gorgeous slab of wood or even a piece of glass. If the red doesn’t suit your needs, you could even have them powder coated locally, or if you’re up for a DIY you can just spray paint them.

Jonah Takagi is a Japanese/American RISD graduate who I discovered through the Matter Made line sold at Matter. His work is simple and beautiful. This piece is made of birch and can be used as a storage system or room divider and it packs flat and uses no fasteners.

The designs of Environment Furniture revolve around around the central principal of resurrecting reclaimed woods and textiles into impeccably constructed, clean-lined furniture. While the showroom feels unfussy, the designs themselves are perfectly crafted. The Curve Dresser, made from reclaimed Peroba wood with bronze hand pulls. The pieces are pricy, but they’re so well constructed and designed that they’ll likely never need to replaced.
