As we’re in full gift-finding mode, it’s very appropriate to feature truly classic gifts- the kind of gifts that hold value no matter the year. Now, you might have seen Iittala’s Kastehelmi Collection before, but take another look and pay attention to each piece. They’re quite pretty in a very elegant, classic way, don’t you think? Don’t assign any piece of the General Series by Good Thing NY to just one function, as they’re meant to fulfill myriad needs around the home or office. It’s a box, so what? Well, it is a box, and, at first glance, you’d think it’s a solid block of wood. However, there’s a bit of trompe l’oeil going on, and to those who know, the lid is held in place by a magnet, so there’s little to hint it holds precious things inside. Why should you care about these aluminum, powder coated trays from LIXHT? Well, they’d be good for organizing stacks of odds and ends, or for transporting things from one place to another. They’re also lightweight and have a very thin profile. On a personal note, I ordered both the small and large size after LIXHT emailed us, and now a previously messy stack of material samples suddenly looks purposeful and organized*.
