Now, why James Bond comes to mind first when seeing these, I don’t know, but they sure are a sophisticated-yet-fun kind of statement. (I’m not saying the James Bond character is ‘fun’, I guess the reference is more about how he always dodged things like poison darts and bullets and such? and had fancy gadget-y things?)
Designer: Anthony Chrisp
Made with screw-tipped stainless steel darts.
Set of 3.

Here’s another clever modern interpretation of antlers used as a coat rack, this time with a very tiny price. Available as either an antler or tree style.
“COAT CHECK is a clever range of coat hooks formed from flat sheets of 1.5 mm brushed stainless steel. Handsome, heavyweight, and durable, perfect for guarding your lucky hat, LuLu’s leash, or even your winter coat! The Coat Tree is 15″ tall by nearly a foot across, while the Coat Rack spans 18″ from tip to tip and 9″ from bottom to top. Each COAT CHECK is packed in a protective plastic bag inside a corrugated box. We’ve included wall anchors and a handy printed template. Why even we were able to hang ours perfectly straight!”

Holy cow. Such a simple coat rack, yet functions as a nice little wall piece/object when not in use. High marks for design, I’d say.
“This playful but sophisticated coat rack was the result of a domestic argument. We were out of closet space, and the coats were overflowing. But we had an aversion to wall hooks – empty and unattractive many months out of the year. We created the Symbol, a practical object we’re happy to look at year-round. During the coatless summer months the Symbol hangs as a purely aesthetic piece, as the hooks lay flat and belie their function. When needed, the hooks pull smoothly out to help you organize your stuff. Available in monochrome aluminum, or in white with vibrant anodized colors, the Symbol helps to keep your home photo ready – with or without the coats. ”
Materials: Monochrome: Anodized aluminum, steel, painted MDF. Color: Anodized aluminum, Powder coated steel, painted MDF.
Size: 36.25″l x 6″h x 1.5″d
Color (shown): $395.00
Monochrome (also quite nice): $445.00

I love finding things like this- a simple, graphic design with colors that make a statement…
“Big 5 is a beautiful modern interpretation of the common coat rack. Structure painted plate white with 5 satinized semi-transparent plastic hooks. Attaches to the wall with regular screws.”
30″ width x 1.75″ depth x 5.5″ height.
Available in White, Grey, Yellow and Orange.

Clever, indeed.
“Here’s a design item so functional and innovative, it was actually featured in Popular Mechanics! This modern solution to the static hook found in bathrooms and closets uses gravity to hold onto anything you hang towels, clothing, purses, etc.’with its patented double hook. Place an item on the lower arm of the Clever Hook the top arm is automatically pulled down to ‘pinch’ย it in place. The heavier the item, the more secure the pinch. The Clever Hook mounts with two wood screws and has been tested to hold up to 40 pounds when attached to a stud or anchored to the wall. It is available in beech wood, as well as five plastic patterns, and is attractive enough to hang in any room in the house.”

Holy cow, I like these so much. Completly worth the price in my book…they’d look great in a large entryway I think. Made of rubber, these hooks suspend from a metal wire and make your clothes look like they’re flying. So cool.

With all the antler paraphernalia around nowadays, why not add another to the mix? This wall-mounted coat hanger is made of powder coated steel wire and is available in the truly great color red.

“Wallstraps?” you wonder, why in the world would you want one of those? Well, wall straps can be used to hold things right against the wall, like magazines and mail or books or soft toys or fussy children. Not really children, of course, that was merely a joke. You can adjust the tension (and tightness of hold) by the placement of the two end screws. I can only assume it’d make an excellent slingshot as well, if you were so inclined. (From Droog Design)

Am I crazy or is this coatrack so much better when it’s red? Maybe the color red makes it look more contemporary? Hmm? You be the judge.
“Crafted of carefully joined bamboo and other exceptionally strong woods, this classic rack offers sturdy support for a dozen guest or family coats. The stable base serves as a rack for umbrellas. Nylon glides protect floors.”
Available in Espresso, White, or Red.

Too creepy not to post. These actually are hooks. Shame on me for thinking otherwise before.

You might have seen the Ghost Antler Coat Racks posted before, and if you liked ’em, you’re in luck. This is also by Erich Ginder and it’s really one of my favorites. It’s about two thousand times better than any other coat rack I’ve come across, not to mention just being plain pretty to look at.
