Okay, so this letter tray will be the thing that finally makes sense of the paper mess sitting on your desk. Iso Organizer L

Well, hello there. The Iso Organizer comes in a larger, longer profile, which is pretty perfect for organizing all sorts of papers, mail, and books. It’s made of heavy gauge cold rolled steel (6 lbs.) with a cork underside, so it’ll stay put without scratching the surface underneath. I have the original size (in blue) on my desk and I’m now trying to think if I need this larger version somewhere else. Hmm.

Paper Display

This Paper Display by Jamie Wolfond & Sam Anderson (and available from good thing) simply acts as a curved base to provide papers to stand. Think of it for displaying your current project paperwork or for showcasing photos and notes. (Update: Now made of powder coated aluminum, the price is more affordable at $14 instead of $39 when it was made of stoneware.)

Sure, it’s a simple sort of desk organizer, with various slots for office tools, but there’s three different version to suit your needs. Everyday office supplies will fit ‘The Classic‘, while ‘The Architect‘ has room for bulky marker pens and drawing materials. ‘The Geek‘ version holds a phone, a tablet, and batteries. Rhodes Desk Organizer

How about a heavy, expensive bar of brass to organize your pens, pencils, and paperwork? A wide slot accommodates a mobile phone while the narrower channels will fit all sorts of notes, cards and lists. Use it as a storage spot for just the essentials or stuff it full with all the papers floating around your desk. You’ll at least look a little organized.

Pinorama Board

All those little pieces of paper and bits and bobs scattered about, just where are you going to put them? Maybe on a perforated metal sheet, with a partial cork backing like this Pinorama Board by Inga Sempe for HAY? I’d say it’s as good as any other place, especially as it has a range of accessories (shelves, mirrors, cylinders, an elastic net(!), and hooks) to customize it just the way you want.

Small, turned, wooden magnets will only enhance those papers, notes, and tear-outs that create that elegant web of ideas you have, thus allowing that brain of yours to settle upon brilliant results previously unknown. My Spot Bauhaus Memento Display

Hey, how about a string, a weight, and some anchors to hold up your important photos and notes? That sounds dreadfully dull, but it’s not, I promise. My Spot is just a very, very minimal approach to a pin board. Gravity keeps the string taut, allowing the anchors to hold your postcards, calendar pages, and notes within reach and perfectly displayed on a simple, horizontal line. Switch out your items easily without succumbing to the mess of a traditional bulletin board.

Hafod Grange Teasel Paperweight

A spiny head of a hand-picked teasel doesn’t sound pretty, but up close it’s a beauty to behold. Dipsacus fullonum is the plant’s proper name, by the way, and the prickly bracts are friendlier to inspect and admire when enclosed safely within polyester resin. It may be an excellent gift for anyone who appreciates botanical oddities, but I’d say you could justify purchasing one for yourself, as it is a paperweight, and therefore can be classified under office supplies. Do take a look at the full selection of Hafod Grange Paperweights, as you may want to start a collection (the Dandelion is spectacular).

Nest Office Caddy

Hmm, this little office caddy has caught my eye with its simple compartments for those small(ish) desk essentials. However, it’s not just for paperclips and rubber bands; stack a few for extra storage or use the steel frame as a stand for your phone or tablet. The frame may also be used as a handle if you tend to move around your home or office to work. And, it’s now on sale, from $80 to $32(!).
