Kaico Enamel Milk Pan

Who in the world needs a specialized milk pan? Pfft, not me, that’s for sure, especially after trying to heat up milk for a matcha latte yesterday. Yes, I said matcha latte, and yes, I’m aware that it’s a very easy recipe, but I somehow made a mess of things, and now I’m thinking that my counters would not have been splattered with green milky tea if the pan I used was smaller and had had a useful spout. If heating up milk is anywhere in your daily/weekly/monthly/seasonal life, this pan would be a treat to have on hand. The Kaico series has an enamel coating over steel which makes each piece durable and thermal-efficient. Also available in the series is the Kaico Coffee Pot $130, Kaico Kettle $140, and the Kaico Pasta Pan $190.

Chisel Boards

Will a small notch out of a nice piece of wood tempt you to spend $120 Canadian dollars? If your answer is no, perhaps you didn’t see how pleasantly multiples fit together. Specifically, how the notches would give an angular feel once set side by side, adding a little geometry to your food presentation. If you couldn’t care less about how your food is presented, then lucky you, no need to spend the money.

10.4.2 Utensil Crate

Yes, the 10.3.2 Knife Shelf was just featured a few days ago, but this is a utensil crate, and is even more appealing as it would house all manner of kitchen utensils plus knives with its built-in rack to one side. It’s handmade to order, so unfortunately it’s too late for this to be a holiday gift, but keep it in mind as a future upgrade for your current utensil jar.

10.3.2 Box Knife Shelf

A knife rack that’s also a shelf sounds handy for anyone not too clumsy- otherwise there might be some issues. On Our Table has several other sizes of non-shelf knife racks, as well as a walnut bread box ($190 CAD) and a wide-yet-shallow box knife block ($180 CAD) that are worth checking out as well.

Color Fest Tea Towel

Fond of geometrically inclined tea towels? Add this to your wish list pronto. Triangular lines with neutral shades and a touch of neon is just what a kitchen needs, or so says those of us partial to such things. Designed by Mae Engelgeer, who does the geometry-meets-textiles category quite well, judging by her other pieces (the Fest collection especially).

Kobenstyle Casserole

It’s safe to say I’ve not cooked anything complicated, much less anything involving the word ‘casserole’, yet I’m certainly drawn to this bold red dish designed by Jens Quistgard. The handle design seems almost too (dare I say) pretty, but the weld points actually limit heat transfer. The lid can also be inverted for use as a trivet. And can you guess when it was designed? Was it a: 1923, b: 1956, c: 1972, or d: 2006?

Citrange Citrus Juicer

Update: The Citrange Juicer is now on sale for $9, half off its regular price of $18.

Smart! This double sided hand juicer has a built in funnel that filters out seeds and gets the juice straight into the glass. The larger rounded side is perfect for big oranges or grapefruits while the smaller (pointy) side works for lemons or limes. Looks like a great tool for the kitchen or bar.

Cuissential SlickBoil

‘Cuissential Slickboil’ sounds more like a skin ailment than a tea kettle, but let’s forget that for the moment. It’s a collapsible, silicone tea kettle. Presumably this would be handy in a camping situation, but I’m more impressed with the fact that it looks good enough to keep around a small kitchen. Of course, wherever you use it, be careful that the flame doesn’t exceed the stainless steel base, or you’ll have a slightly melted mess.

Magisso Bamboo Cutting Board

This cutting board has a Z shape to provide two useful functions. The front ridge rests against the edge of the counter to keep the board from sliding forward. The back keeps your knife in place while cutting and may also be used to funnel your chopped veggies into a bowl or pan. And, if that’s not enough for you, that same Z shape allows the board to stand upright as well; that little detail should not to be underestimated if your kitchen lacks storage space. If you still refuse to get excited about a cutting board, there’s a video below for visual stimulation.

100% Grade A Cheese Board

How about a nice slice of Swiss to show off your cheese spread? A composite of acrylic resin and powdered bauxite means the material is similar to marble, so think about chilling it ahead of time to keep your cheeses fresh on the table. If you look closely, you’ll see that one hole goes all the way through for easy hanging. And there’s no worries about bacteria or odors as the board is non-porous.

Kitchen Brush and Glass Container

Hmm, not sure exactly what you would store inside this container, but it seems like a good idea to have a kitchen brush as a lid of a storage vessel. The brush could scrub pots and pans or your vegetables, but would you put soap inside the container? Or baking soda for cleaning? Your imagination might be useful in determining the best use.
