For this price, the Norm 03 light might just be the most affordable cool-looking lamp of the month. Don’t know about you, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the price.

I love this origami style lamp. Each fold in the lamp reveals a different color.

Yeah, I know, I use the word “simple” way too much, but tough. Deal wit’ it. I really like the way this very simple pendant lamp makes no effort to hide what it is… instead, it does the opposite.

Have you ever wanted to take the Bilbao Guggenheim home with you? I have. Although this doesn’t resemble the Guggenheim it does have the whimsy (did I actually just say “whimsy”?) that Frank Gehry adds to all his designs.

Now here’s a quick solution to those of you afraid of rewiring light fixtures…This aluminum ceiling light shade simply slips over any existing light bulb/wire. No pliers or toolbelt required. There’s optional (powder coated) interior color of blue or red. Natural (without color) is shown.

I was at a the Super Target near my office yesterday and was confused and pleasantly surprised when I found several decorative items that I wanted. Usually when target tries to do modern, they get the scale and materials all wrong–usually way too small and junky. But Target did it this time! The had lamps that were at least 3 feet high, throw blankets that were mohair and some pieces were solid wood! I was astonished. I entirely recommend that if you have one nearby, and want some finishing touches, stop by and check it out. Don’t misunderstand me. You will not think you have accidentally wandered into Neiman Marcus, but you WILL think Target is taking it up a notch. The reason I recommend that you actually go visit the store is because the photos they have on the site do not do the products justice.

It’s in their Global Bazaar collection, “where the possibilities are endless but the supply is limited.” Consider yourself warned.

And of course I like this light because it’s designed by Mr. Wanders. I’m waiting for something he designs to come along and illicit strong feelings of dislike, but it hasn’t happend yet. This Tube Light is pvc/cotton laminate with a metal frame.

Really, how can anyone not like modern lighting? This pendant lamp is the perfect example of a eye-catching and simple design that would blend into a variety of different decors.

I’m going to pretend we could all afford to purchase the Caboche Suspension Lamp by Eliana Gerotto & Patricia Urquiola. It’s so incredibly lovely. There’s 189 clustered transparent globes (made of polymethylmetacrylate) and a white matte finish glass shade that directs the light just where it needs to be, and of course optimizes the pretty factor.
