Holy cow! These oil lamps are actually real US army surplus grenades that are gilded in gold or silver (or left in their natural finish) and filled with oil so it can be a candle. I like ’em lots. No matter what your opinion on general warfare, you’ve got to appreciate the genius of these lamps. I’m sure many would have raised eyebrows when happening upon them, and I guess that’s the beauty of it all, huh?

With holidays fast approaching, isn’t about time to buy things like turkey platters and candlesticks? These silver-plated candlesticks will make up for lack of turkey platters and basting brushes in my book, and maybe even those finicky relatives will be distracted by the pretty candlelight on the pretty candlesticks. The silver is unlacquered, so tarnishing will occur over time…but you can polish them back to their original luster with a silver polishing cloth.

The kids at Design Public worked with Erich Ginder to make this amazing chandelier. If you happen to live in a modern Elks Lodge (or strive to) this piece is a must.

Yes, I know, this is way too expensive and not what most people call affordable, but it’s also incredibly amazing. It’s made of white goose feathers!! And, it’s almost 3 feet in diameter!! You just can’t beat that, at least not today. Think of how nice it’d look above a dining table, or next to a sofa. Mmm. Can somebody make me this for a tenth of the price? Please?

This is probably a little different than what you’re used to. A soft, woven fibre-glass cloth is the “shade” of this light, and possibilities are endless. You can hang in on a wall, lay it on the floor- really, any way you choose, this light would be lovely.
