Hmm, not sure exactly what you would store inside this container, but it seems like a good idea to have a kitchen brush as a lid of a storage vessel. The brush could scrub pots and pans or your vegetables, but would you put soap inside the container? Or baking soda for cleaning? Your imagination might be useful in determining the best use.

If live edge wood excites you even just a little, note these nicely shaped wood cutting boards by local San Francisco wood worker Luke Bartells. Each is handcrafted and varies depending on the wood. Also, if you’re in the market for live edge wood furniture, be sure to check out Bartells’ website; there’s quite a few gems.

A sentiment well worth remembering in times of stress, this postcard will be sure to get your message across… and then perhaps end up pinned to a bulletin board (or even put in a frame?). That’s what I would do with it.

These aren’t new, but they are affordable and pretty lovely for the price- definitely worth keeping in mind if you need something eye catching that doesn’t break the bank. Designed by Paula Arntzen and named after the palace of King Louis XIV. Post-consumer coated Tyvek makes for a lightweight material and allows a soft glow through the folded slits.

Summer sales are happening now, and this little grill is currently priced at $79.95 (reg $124) at the MoMA Store. It’s a grill AND a planter, which is nothing short of fantastic for small porches and patios. Just how smart is it to hide a grill (when not in use) under the guise of a real planter? Pretty smart, I’d say, and especially handy should you choose to plant herbs and such in said planter.

Everyone can afford to provide shelter for the birds at this price. This birdhouse ships flat, and after a few simple steps you’ll have a pop up (weather-resistant) cardboard birdhouse fit for your feathered friends. Could be fun to decorate as well, if you prefer. Measures 10″ tall; wood dowel for perch included.

While this might be a little above your budget, it does look entirely handy for hors d’oeuvres for a small get together or party. A wood carrying rack allows for 5 bowls of different heights to be carried together, and when you place the bowls and rack down, the bowls sit on the table and reveal their topography. See video below.

Stay familiar with Roman numerals by using this set of dice. You might even rattle your opponents as not everyone can easily add up numerals, especially compared to the dots found on usual dice. History moment: according to Wikipedia, “the oldest known dice were excavated as part of a 5000-year-old backgammon set at the Burnt City (Shahr-e SÅ«khté), an archeological site in south-eastern Iran.”

Instead of carrying around (or stashing away) 24 color pencils, how about just 12 two tone pencils? This tin of double-ended full size colored pencils will keep all your favorite colors on hand without taking up too much space in your pencil case or desk drawer.

This is such a nice way to express your appreciation. This set of 25 individual thank you notes are small enough to carry around and leave about wherever you want. Maybe your server or salesperson was prompt and courteous, or maybe your coworker did something that made your day easier; it’d be easy to leave a note and let them know you noticed. It’s not specified what all the cards say, but two photos show two cards with ‘Thank you for your lovely hospitality’ and ‘Thank you for the superb service.’

Most cooks leave mortar and pestles out on the countertop to avoid lugging them in and out of cabinets, and seeing as they’re out for everyone to see, they might as well be nice to look at. Marble, as some of you might know, is an excellent material for a mortar and pestle as it does not absorb odors from foods and provides a perfect grinding surface. Each varies slightly.
