Hmm, what do we have here? It’s a tea sieve that doubles as a stirrer once your tea is brewed. While this does seem handy as it negates the need for a spoon, one wonders how difficult it might be to clean. (If you decide to purchase it, please share.)

Just. Gorgeous. The Francis Mirrors by Petite Friture are a colorful re-interpretation of the vintage/distressed mirror. The worn-off reflective backing of such mirrors that would normally show through are filled in with chromatic pigments, taking on a water-color effect. As you’ve ascertained from the title, these lamps are made from spent fire extinguisher canisters. By using either the top or bottom of the canister the shape is cylindrical or rounded, and each one is hand painted with a slight black/grey effect. Not a bad way to make use of an otherwise discarded item, and it certainly lends itself to a nice ‘guess what this used to be’ discussion at your next dinner party.

This bamboo room screen is a good option for when you need to create a little privacy for a certain area or camouflage a bad view without blocking out all the light. And, yes, it’s not cheap, but it’s a little less than some of the others on the market these days (namely the Ricci Room Divider at $749).

Ooo, more eye trickery, and this time it benefits our derrière. Grain de Couleur specializes in digital printing on fabric, and as you can see here, they’ve created these seat cushions that have the look of other various materials, front and back. They are a bit on the smallish (and poofy) side, so take note of the size before buying a full set for a dining chair makeover.

If you’re still searching for a Valentine’s Day gift, listen up. Unless you have the time to make something thoughtful (like your own valentine notebook), do not, I repeat, do not, resort to a heart shaped box of chocolates or fluffy teddy bear. It lacks all kinds of imagination and is just plain wrong. You can do better. Perhaps pick out a picture frame, or two, such as this Nearest is Dearest Picture Frame Set, and choose a few special photos of you and your sweetheart together. Print them out (high quality setting, mind you), write a heartfelt note and call it a day. Unless you’ve a high maintenance significant other, you’re off the hook until next year.

I’ve been making a concerted effort to use paper and pen to send thank you notes, and as a result, I’ve had my eyes out for appropriate stationery. It’s not news worth shouting from the rooftops, but the timing makes it a great gift for that special someone in your life. This isn’t for everyone, but it seems so handy to have such a large-ish rolling basket to simply collapse and store when not in use. Quite similar to the Collapsible Wire Basket from CB2 (and, most likely from the same maker/manufacturer), this basket collapses when you don’t need it for your household miscellany (toys, laundry, etc.).
