There’s no shortage of indoor drying lines available online, but the selection isn’t anything to get too excited about. This system by designer Russ Hornstein could possibly be recreated with a few smart choices in hardware, but if you’d rather not bother, it’s not too terribly expensive (especially since you’ll be saving energy by air drying). The cord supports four times as much clothing as a conventional clothes line, and by creating a few loops you’re able to hang laundry sideways… so, you’re getting quite a bit more laundry drying in a rather small amount of space.

These remind me of the Ink Blot series by Kathleen Walsh (which are no longer available as far as I can find) for obvious reasons. Inspired by the Rorschach test, you’re sure to have some interesting conversations based on what your friends and family see within the patterns. Figure 3 is clearly a giraffe’s face, don’t you think?

Perhaps some of our derrières might not quite fit on this tree swing, yet it’s worth reminding that it doesn’t take much to make something similar. Should you not wish to toil away making a wooden disk, this reclaimed elm seat is kiln-dried and finished with mineral oil.

Whether you’re tired of them or not, moustaches are here to stay. It was only a matter of time before they appeared in the form of a clip; now your reports and paperwork can have that jaunty air that only a proper moustache can bring. Silly? Yes. Sort of fun? Definitely.

With a ship date of October 2011, you’ve got a little time to think about this floor lamp. Thin loops of powder-coated steel create the base and while it measures 18″ wide, it has a rather airy appearance. I love the blue and yellow (either color would pop out in a neutral space) yet the white might be a better choice if you prefer a more subtle look.

This looks to be a smart storage option for spices. Each container is stackable, as you can see, but they also interlock so you can group together regularly used spices on the shelves or in a drawer. Seeing as it’s the first day of the last month of summer, it’s worth reminding that you might as well take advantage of every moment outside if you’re experiencing nice weather*. There’s something about this bandana dinnerware that says ‘summer’ loud and clear. Sure, it’s got the red/white/blue theme, and a bandana design, but it’s also triple-weight melamine, which means durability.

Will this wooden cutlery break? Possibly, if you press down too hard. Do they look cool/interesting? No doubt.
