Trace Paper/Pen Holder

A place for everything and everything in its place…that’s what comes to mind when admiring this lovely trace paper holder. Even if you don’t use tracing paper, it does look like a very nice catch-all for desk items.

“The ubiquitous roll of trace has long adorned architects’ desks. As ours inevitably wound up in a drawer, only to succumb to marks and tearing, we had in our minds that there should be a better place for such an important tool. The result is Place for Trace.” – Straight from the mouths of New York City-based, O’Brian Muehleisen Architecture Studio, who have designed this simple yet ingenious wood trace holder for architects.

Able to hold a standard roll of trace, with room for up to 15 pens and pencils.
Available in four finishes: Walnut, Cherry, Oak or Maple

Little Crush Table lamp

Coated in matte black rubber, a crushed soda bottle is transformed into a sculptural lamp base. (I’m sure the touch of gold on the inside of the lamp upgrades the look a bit too…if the shade was white it wouldn’t look as luxe.)

Each Little Crush table lamp is made using a reclaimed PET bottle and coated in matt black rubber.

Nambé Twist 10-Inch Cocktail Shaker

Talk about a some serious cocktails, this spiral shaker has some sharp curves (and point) to make handling easier. It looks slightly scary, but I’m sure it does the job extremely well.

The twisted, sculpted sides of the shaker increase the ease of handling the shaker when moist, and beautifully flow into the pointed, cone-shaped top. Made of sand-cast metal and polished to a bright mirror finish, the shaker retains cold remarkably well and can be thoroughly chilled in a freezer before filling with martini ingredients. A thin black rubber ring is integral in the lid and in the removable strainer, to make the press fit nice and snug. With a 16-ounce capacity and height of 10 inches, the shaker comes gift-boxed and ready to impress a favorite cocktail maker.

Bird Bottle

Did you know that birdbottles were popular throughout most of the 18th century and were intended mostly for pest control? While the original birdbottles were made from rejected ceramic jugs, this modern day aluminum design provides a sleeker perch for your nearby insect-catching birds.

Constructed out of aluminum, the Birdbottle’s tubular profile and slanted entrance roof provide ample security for nesting birds. The polished stainless steel perch welcomes birds home and provides a perfect spot for them to sit outside and watch over the surrounding landscape.

Wire Rug

I’d say these bold brush-like strokes of this black and white rug would add some energy to a room. (Energy as in movement, not like “I can tell you have good energy by your aura…”)

Graphic carbon barbed wire escapes the predictable confines in a freeform contrast on plush linen hand-tufted New Zealand/Indian wool.

Orchard Ladder

Oh, why do things torture me so? This is an example of an item that in no way I have to have or even slightly need, but I want sort of badly. I actually saw these in New York at the store and had to suppress the urge to caress them. It’s that balance of beauty and craftsmanship, together making an item where, sure, it could be useful, but I certainly wouldn’t want to cover it with towels or clothes*. I would simply admire. And, yes, it’s an awful lot of money for a ladder that you wouldn’t actually use as a ladder, but that’s really not the point (or maybe it’s exactly the point).

19th-century orchard ladders are the inspiration for this series of decorative accents. Turned, hard maple components fit snugly together. Orchard ladders can accommodate throws, towels, clothes, or simply stand alone. Available in three sizes.
