Here’s a pretty nice sofa that won’t break the bank.
“Lustrous black and cream tweed, pristine lines and buttoned-back detailing all contribute to the mid-century mystique of this modern beauty and communicate “grown up” in a very hip way. That’s why you’ll find it as at home in a spacious condo or loft as in a vintage ranch or salon. High density foam on hardwood frame. Upholstery and bolsters, included, in polyester/viscose. Contemporary stainless steel legs.”

Man, I wouldn’t call these affordable by any means, but they sure are worth taking a look at…
“The capital Baghdad, the new Babylon, a symbol of multiple, ethnic, cultural and religious identities, a sort of concentration of all humanity. The top of the New Baghdad table is made up of tens of different industrial aluminium profiles each one with a specific purpose, which together make up a map of the capital of Iraq, ploughed by river Tigris. The designer Ezri Tarazi’s idea behind the table is that each shape’s various identities are merged into a cohesive plan.”
Available in Small and Large (dining or coffee table height).

This chair is made from scrap hardwood, ensuring that each one is slightly different. It might set you back a fair chunk of change, but it will surely be something that you’ll hold on to for years to come.
“Using Canadian hardwoods gathered from Toronto area studios and manufacturers, the Common Chairs are made by hand and assembled at random so that each chair is unique. Finished using a water based, zero VOC finish.”

This bench is pretty stunningly simple and beautiful. It can be used as a coffee table, bench, and also at the foot of the bed. The edges are crisp and thin while it gains strength towards the center of the bench with a slight elliptical shape.

I love this chair. It’s two identical pieces of wood which can be assembled to form a chair, and can be disassembled to be put away. The notches can be used to hang the chairs on the wall if you like.
Certified Canadian maple, zero formaldehyde emission glue, water-base clear coat finish.

Despite my tendency to buy black furniture, I’m really liking the different color options of the Prouve Standard Chair…it might take some time to save up for several, but just one in any of the colors would really make a strong statement.
“Tubular steel piping is enough for the front legs that take relatively little strain, whereas the back legs are made of voluminous hollow sections and pass the strain on to the floor.”

I’m guessing most of us don’t have this kind of cash lying around just waiting to be spent on a bookcase, but it sure is impressive.
“Behind the Tier Shelving’s simple silhouette lies a complicated fabrication technique resulting in no visible hardware. Shelf widths are available in 4′ or 8′ lengths. In addition, you may choose an overall unit height of 6′ or 8′. I love, love, love this chair. Too bad it’s got the ‘price available on request’ tag- that pretty much means that I definitely can’t afford it.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I’ve always been one for the more eclectic look at home, and maybe that’s why this cabinet caught my eye. I like how it has a relatively modern structure overall, with the different types of wood being the interesting thing about it…and I think whatever pieces surround it in a home would determine the classification of style- if you put it with country rustic, it would definitely read that way, but juxtaposed with something modern it could be a really unique modern piece.
“…handmade from barn wood, molding from houses and beaded board. This unique accent piece is a patchwork quilt of interesting patterns and textures handmade by Georgia artist Margaret Taylor. Combining rustic material with practical and modern design, this sturdy steel patchwood cube will be an ideal storage piece in the dining room, bedroom, bathroom, entry way or kitchen.”
