Made out of solid mango wood, this little stool could be considered a steal for the price. Yesterday I saw something really very quite similar for about four times as much. It had a little bit more character to it, and a slightly different shape, but I’m guessing if you’re pinching pennies certain sacrifices are necessary.

Look at these crazy chairs! It’s upholstered polyurethane with polyester filling. The cover can be made with your own material. That means you pick out fabric or leather from anywhere in the world and you give it to them. They’ll make the cover for you. Nice.

So has anybody bought any of this yet? I’m really quite curious to know how it looks. Is it of decent quality? For those of you that haven’t seen or heard about Target’s new take on furniture (or rather, it’s forray into the affordable modernish crowd of furniture), this is a sample of some of the “Vintage Modern” collection. It looks pretty promising, but who knows.

This bed is pretty hot. We’ve seen our fair share of platform beds (haven’t you?) and this one is pure class. It’s modern with a bit of Asian flair, and if that’s not enough for you, you’ve got several different leather colors and few wood finishes to customize this bed to your specifications. I think if I saw this in somebody’s home, I’d think “do they own a hotel?”- cause it looks a lot more expensive than it is.

While perusing Design Public’s site, I was pleased to run across this armoire. As you can see from the picture, it’s white with gray chalkboard doors, and has a lacquered white interior with orange shelves and drawer fronts. It’s quite simple yet impressive because of the nice orange insides and, of course, the ever-changing-up-to-you-art-on-the-doors. Those details count, you know. Mulitple shelves are included as well as an optional hang bar, and, if you’d rather go the hide-the-tv route, it’s got that nice feature of wire management so you can put your electronics inside.

My aunt and uncle have lived in the same Chicago apartment since the 60’s. Also in that apartment since the 60’s was an amazing walnut tension rod shelving system. I was thrilled when they offered it to me and it now proudly stands in my office. Even though it holds about a ton of books, it still has an amazing visual lightness to it. I can’t tell you how much I love mine. If you want to experience the same joy from something that just performs a simple function, you can buy some from Moss. The great thing about it is that it can be reconfigured if you move or if your needs change.

You can email or call them and tell them what you need and they will come up with a configuration for you. They’ll send you a drawing and a price and your new shelving will arrive fresh from the UK just like you like it.

Nice for bedside or sofaside or something. The curve of the top panel is especially nice; it’s available in White Enamel or Anodized Aluminum (with or without shelf). I just wish it was a little bit less ‘spensive.

The two-legged design allows for space to be utilized to its full potential- since it mounts to the wall you avoid baseboards getting in the way (that little inch can actually be a lot when space is tight). I saw this chair what seems forever ago in some bad picture of some furniture show, don’t remember which. But, man, I love it. I really might have to save up my money for it (for real). It’s stellar.

Have you seen this yet? If not, take a look. Even if you are allergic to kids, you’ve got to appreciate the design of this little chair. Turned one way, the seat height is 10.5″; flipped the other way the seat height is 14.5″. And, best of all, turned on it’s side it becomes a rocking stool. Super good design. It’d be a good gift for itty bitty humans- not too terribly pricey.

The Chair One looks like something made in the 80’s intended to look like it was made in 2020. Whatever decade it was actually made in, I love this chair. It’s weather-proofed so it would look equally great indoors or outdoors.

This is a striking chair with a cantilevered seat. It’s a little pricy to buy more than one, (unless you have that kind of budget) but if you were looking for a signature piece for a study or main entry way, this might be your chair.

Harriet Carter is notorious for selling some really terrible things that no one should ever buy, but I thought this portable dog dish deserved a mention. This would have come in handy the time I took my 100 lb. German Shepherd and my 60 lb. Dobermann for a walk on a hot day. On the way home, the German Shepherd simply refused to go any further and I ended up having to get all three of us a ride home. It was embarrassing. [Via Book of Joe.]
