I know, I’m sorry, it’s another slightly-more-than-you-can-afford thing, but I can’t help myself. Cast resin furniture is one of my weaknesses, and this chair is really so completely lovely. The chairs are cast sequentially in layers while on their side, which makes the color combinations different and unique…also, it has a stainless steel skeleton so you won’t break it.

Well, you’ve got to know that most of anything designed by Verner Panton is undeniably “fun” as it is (semi-) functional. That’s a broad statement of mine, and maybe somebody disagrees, but for now, I’m sticking to it. Here’s what Hive Modern’s site has to say about it:

“From the Danish company that gave us the bean-bag, comes the “Panto-Pop” designed by Verner Panton. Originally designed for Visiona 2 at the 1970 Cologne Furniture Fair, very few examples were produced and it wasn’t until 1999 that Innovation Randers of Denmark put it into serial production.”

These are decent stackable “storage squares” for reasonable prices…Each Qube is available in burnt maple or espresso and is made with a sturdy laminate finish. The divider/shelf things are steel, so that’s kind of different and sturdy too. You could use them for all sorts of things: bathroom towels and stuff, organizing your office, living room, or the wine qubes for your dining room. And the Container Store says they’re easy to assemble.

So, Philippe Starck is everywhere nowadays, so if you aren’t particularly fond of him or of his designs, you’re just going to have to get used to it. Sorry. I thought this little table, an addition to the Bubble Club collection, is something to think about for your outdoor space (or even indoors if you want). It’s cute and not so ‘spensive.

Another lovely light table/bench. On 2Modern’s site they mention it is “also suitable for displaying photos and other objects of desire.” Hmm, what would you put on it?

I saw these on design*sponge a while back and hesitated posting them because the shop’s overseas and I thought that wouldn’t be too convenient…BUT I kept thinking about them and suddenly realized that I might just have to post them anyways, regardless of the shipping costs/time.

It’s laser-cut, powder-coated steel with an oh-so-ever romantic preforated floral design…I especially love the contrasting color inside. And, it’s suitable for both indoor or outdoor use. Available in white with pink interior, graphite black with pink interior, or graphite black with white interior (on some of the pieces, but not all). Delivery outside Lithuania usually takes up to 4 weeks; Ona (that’s the store) ships everywhere. I guess I should mention there are other dimensions/designs-I encourage you to investigate further if you’re interested.

Nice modern design coupled with good, honest craftsmanship = MO (Modern Object). This incarnation is a doghouse made of either poplar for indoor use or Brazilian Cherry for outdoor use.

Brookbend is the brain-child of former Ethan Allen designer, Irving Sabo. His background in boat building, architecture and art is evident in this simple, yet well-designed collection of fine crafted outdoor furniture. This chaise is just one example of his work.

A new (1970) take on an old (1929) favorite. Knoll is reissuing it for the first time since the 1970’s.

Designed in 1958 by Franco Albini, the albini desk features a shelving unit (in ebonized oak wood or white) that appears to float in mid air, a 1/2″ thick glass top, and a chrome finished body. The rear of the shelving unit has an opening for magazines.
