The Oak Nordic Bed by Ethnicraft is made from sustainably farmed solid oak that is kiln dried to assure stability (think twice about any piece that doesn’t use kiln dried wood) and includes hardwood support slats. If you like everything to be lined up and precise, this might not be the shelving for you. The Ivy has the option to seemingly sway precariously to the side; it also stacks straight up, but that’s not as much fun. Make it as high or as low as you wish, as each shelf is sold as a unit.

Dining tables with extra leaves are nothing new, yet rarely do you find one that stores leaves in such a simple way as this table from Blu Dot. It has storage drawers at each end that allow quick access to the leaves when you have extra guests. It looks like the leaves fit onto the drawer as their support, thus minimizing any clasps or extra fussiness. (This looks to be much better than storing the leaves in the center of the table, especially as the inner edges of the table surface are often damaged when someone carelessly removes/stores the leaves.)

Just when you thought you were well over any (more) Eames furniture, Herman Miller goes and tempts you with a limited edition of the Wire Base Low Table in red, blue, and yellow. These tables are in honor of the late Ray Eames (she would have been 100 this year) and are only available for a limited time, so, if you’re a fan, and the primary colors get your ‘must-have-this-immediately’ juices flowing, get a move on and add one to your cart.

However you feel about the Novogratz duo, they do know how to pick pieces with character. This table for CB2 is based on their own French antique lab table, and, as you can see, has two drawers on each side that will hold cutlery, table linens, and all manner of family miscellany, as the case may be. The top is solid acacia wood with a bottom iron stretcher base.

Here’s a relatively simple idea executed well: a removable felt wrap protects the table’s surface from feet, drinks, laptops, etc. The handier among us might replicate this idea on our own coffee tables, but don’t discount the table under the smart felt idea just yet. It’s solid walnut with nicely curved TIG-welded steel legs, so it’ll stand the test of time while easily living up to its name.

Brilliant! Now your conference table can also be a ping-pong table, thus saving space and encouraging ‘fun’ breaks for you and your team. The central panel either functions as the ping-pong net support or as a hide-away cable management, while drawers at either end house all the ping-pong (or meeting) supplies. How is this not a good idea?

What’s so special about an upside down wire basket? Well, for starters, it’s not an upside down wire basket: it’s a seat/ottoman/side table and light. The small grey bar on the top is a solar panel, and that solar panel fuels the five LED lights that illuminate the under table at night. A webbed nylon loop on the side makes moving it around your lawn (or patio) a little easier.

Interesting. This bookshelf is basically one steel tube with one central support, a little different from the usual two-bracket-one-flat-shelf idea, isn’t it? It’s stated that no tools are needed, but seeing as there screws in the picture, you might want to have a Phillips screwdriver handy.

This price is right for this side table, especially considering the style and materials. The warm walnut top balances out the cool copper wire base, and the size is just about perfect for a table lamp and a few odds and ends. The top is removable should you want to store something in the base, though who knows what that might look like. Might be better to leave it as is.

First off, the $150 price is for the kid-sized version, but, that said, $225 isn’t too bad of a price for an aluminium (or, as us Americans would say, aluminum) stacking stool. The Eiffel stool can easily live indoors or out, and do check out the image below of the stools stacked 5 high (space saving!), and see if that doesn’t impress you the tiniest bit more.
