Okay, if you just glance at this bench quickly, it might appear a tad overly antique-ish, yet it has some modern touches, such as the high gloss lacquer and the super flat seat. Now, at £525, it’s not really at a bargain-basement price, but if you put it side by side with the New Antiques Arm Chair for £1,495.00 by Marcel Wanders (see below), it seems like one hell of a deal. There’s also a Silhouette Chair (£250) if you are interested, though it seems to be out of stock at the moment.

Love, love, love this stool. The color coded ends of timber are emphasized in the design of this stool, thereby “preserving a hint of the origins of the wood” and giving us an altogether colorful little seating option.

Do you want to guess what product is made from this latex, thereby leaving tons of it for upcycling into a pouf? Is it construction fencing? Rubber bouncy balls? Waste from the production of shoe insoles? Right you are, shoe insoles it is. Angela Mensi, Cristina Merlo and Ingrid Taro are three designers making objects and furniture out of waste materials, and based on this under-$100 colorful pouf, I’d say they’re starting out right.

I did a little overview of Another Country back in November, but this daybed is worth a highlight on its own. You can buy it with or without the mattress and bolsters, and it should be noted that without the mattress it could double as a generous coffee table. With the buttoned mattress, it’s a lovely spot for a nap or an extra overnight guest (it’s the size of a standard single bed).

Whoa, this Oblique Shelf by BuiltIN studio qualifies as a top notch eye catcher for any room. The angles are impressive to be sure (see the side view) and it’ll hold your various possessions with some serious style. Each shelf is hand-made of solid American hardwoods and are finished with a low VOC polyurethane.

For the budding builder or designer, this cardboard DIY chair would be a fun afternoon project. With a little bit of time and elbow grease, recycled paper parts can be assembled into a chair sturdy enough to take on 132 lbs (though I doubt many 5 to 6 year olds weigh that much). Decorate and paint once assembled.

This tilted bookcase is just strange enough to be interesting, yet, thankfully, despite that allure its price tag remains well under the $1G mark. Whether you use it as a room divider or as a normal bookcase against a wall, it’ll display your treasures in a minimal (and interesting) way.

It’s rare that we post bespoke furniture, but occasionally a piece is outstanding enough to deserve a mention. This table is handmade by Toby Winteringham and displays excellent marquetry in dyed veneers and sycamore.

Hmm, $219 seems awfully affordable for a dining chair, especially considering there’s a nice balance of wood and steel. Made to pair with the Copine Dining Table ($799), the chair is available in American walnut or oak.
