I fell hard and fast for Deadgood when I first saw their Love Collection, and I might just have a serious crush on the Capsule Sofa and Chair. The colorful buttons and graduated tones add just the right amount of playfulness… might be the perfect thing to knock the serious edge off a room.

We’ve posted parts of the Cain Collection before, but I thought the stool was worthy of a post because it’s a nice colorful piece and the price is right.

Quick, what’s your posture like right now? If it’s as bad as mine, maybe you’ll also be curious as to how this little footrest might help you improve your office ergonomics. I only wish it was a little less office-y looking. Also, how much do you want to bet a co-worker will attempt to use it as a skateboard? That could be entertaining… until they rip a hole in it, or break their wrist/nose/leg.

This is one super-incredibly-thin table. It costs fifty thousand freaking dollars. Just thought I’d hit you over the head with that right up front. Lose one of those little zeroes to the left of the decimal point, and suddenly it’s much more reasonable. I don’t mean to be such a critic (I know some people spend that much or more on a car) but I still have trouble absorbing that extra zero. That said, I appreciate the technology behind such an endeavor. It’s definitely a looker.

By using state-of-the-art autosport and aerospace technology, and exploiting the inherent rigidity of layered carbon fiber, Woodgate and Barnard have created an astonishing table that spans nearly 8 feet and has a thickness of less than 1/10 of an inch. Modular systems can offer much needed versatility to your home, and this system does so with a distinct mid century flair. A half drawer unit plus half seat (not shown) would be ultra handy in a entryway, and the look of the two-2 drawer units on a double base (shown at top) could look very nice as a bedroom dresser or console. The only drawback is it can get a bit pricey when you start adding up the costs.

Usually dining tables are expensive–there’s a reason for this. Usually they’re made of solid wood to deal with wet objects such as spills and drink condensation. This little table isn’t too expensive, but the table top is a veneer which may not hold up over time. However, if you don’t exactly have the cash to drop on a more expensive model, this one may just do the trick and you could always have it re-veneered if necessary or even replace the whole table top with a solid wood top.

Partly why this table is inexpensive is that it’s painted wood veneer, and if you’ve ever had anything of the same, you know there’s a good chance of the paint finish chipping or dinging the minute you pick it up. But, that said, if you’re not needing something super durable (i.e. kid proof) you might consider snapping up one or two for side tables. Plus, who knows, maybe this table will exceed expectations.

Here’s another module storage system, this time by Piero Lissoni for Kartell. It’s made from a sturdy steel frame and acrylic resin doors, walls and floors, and will stand the test of time next to a cheaper version not made with the same materials.

I think something like this would look amazing in the kitchen.
