Bring the outdoors inside with this series from Normann Copenhagen’s New Danish Modern furniture collection. The Camping series consists of chairs, table, stool and daybed in moulded beech wood and leather and man-oh-man does it look impressive. It oozes craftmanship; I’d love to see it in person.

Jesper K. Thomsen explains: “The archetypical traditional camping equipment has been my inspiration. The design has a recognition factor that brings the thoughts over to leisure and togetherness, that many think are typical of camping. Modernica’s design studio has collaborated with artist Peter Shire to design the Prince Charles Chair based on the company’s Case Study Fiberglass shell chair and playfully named after the originator of the design, Charles Eames…The Prince Charles chair is an elegant and ironic juxtaposition – past and present. Considering the shape and function, this chair seems like a rather reasonable option for seating. There are lots of fabrics to choose from, so depending on which one you choose, the price varies a bit.

In a revisit to things posted way long ago (april ’05 to be exact), this Offi Lounge shows how years can change price tags (imagine that, prices increase over time). Despite any irritation you might feel in not buying something like this back then, rest assured that this is an extremely good chair, and it’s most likely worth every penny of today’s money.

This sleek chair looks incredible — pair up two next to each other for a symmetric modern look, and get some added storage as part of the bargain. Inspired by the functionality of old school chairs, the Perch Lounge has a softly contoured plywood shell with a fully upholstered pad. The shell sits atop a chrome rod frame with an elevated wire shelf for books, magazines, or a laptop. Combining a seat with storage, the Perch Lounge offers function without sacrificing comfort or looks.

Elle Decoration (France) (see pic on right) featured this chair their November edition, and I’ve got to say it looked more expensive than what it is…altogether, a very impressive price for a rather stylish chair.

Handwoven; each piece of furniture is unique. Twisted paper provides a soft surface. Material properties similar to rattan.
