We previously mentioned Loll’s fantastic Adirondack Chair, and are quite happy to announce their new COCO chair, a very Eames-inspired modern lounge chair available in six different colors. It’s made from 100 percent post consumer recycled plastic and weatherproof, so don’t be afraid to bring it outside now that spring’s right around the corner.

Indoor or outdoor, this chair has some style. The knitted fabric reminds me of the Slow Chair, but, of course, this chair is a little more angular to be mistaken for its sibling. The cantilevered seat makes me wonder how much ‘give’ it has when you sit in it; does it bounce a little perhaps?

This is one of my favorite designs ever. It’s a quite sturdy plastic stool that folds out in about 3 seconds. Quite ingeniously, the carrying handle pops out when folded back up. When living in my tiny New York apartment, it always amused me whenever I put it back in its storage place; the 4 inch gap in between the wall and the refrigerator. It supports up to 300 lbs and at $29, is well worth the price.

While the price of this chair might scare you more than the fabric does, it’s an excellent example of how a rather normal chair can become completely crazy with the right (or wrong) choice of fabric. Hoda Baroudi and Maria Hubri of Bokja Design use all sorts of fabrics to revitalize vintage finds, and if you’re not familiar with their work, it’s worth a glance just to see the variety of textiles. All pieces are handmade by traditional craftsmen, and the vintage textiles used are from Uzbekistan, central Asia, and other countries along the Silk Road. Take a look at Bokja’s products and believe me, you’ll certainly find inspiration (and courage?) for reupholstering any of your current threadbare furniture.

Donna Wilson love. Some of her furniture with SCP is pretty exciting, not to mention this little Wilma bench you see before you. First of all, let’s just get ‘rubberized coconut hair’ out of the way. It’s a sustainable material that “gives the seat a crisp and firm feel.” Okay. Next, the Mabel linen fabric is both playful and quaint, yet the color won’t clash with any of your other exuberant pieces. Splayed legs complete the picture. Yep, it’s a great option for a bench-slash-table.

Now, take a moment here. Given all the popularity of knitted poufs lately, namely the Flocks Pouf and other such delightful ottomans, this rope buoy ottoman is a steal of a deal. Sure, it’s ‘nautical’, and made out of jute rope, but I photoshopped the lifebuoy out of the picture just to help you see how it’s essentially a wonderful little textural piece. It could be a smart addition to a room that needs a little ‘oomph’ as far as character.

So don’t quote me on the name of the table…Exquisit refers to it as “gm50750”, but a rose by any other name right? Or in this case, an impossibly clean-looking table whose main design features are contrast black edges and a minimalist cushion that runs the length of the bench. It’s also available in solid black and two different lengths. Oh, and this can also be used indoors and outdoors.

Whoa. Check out this bench by Frank Cresencia. The form focuses on the space “between the bench and the floor of its environment, not the surfaces of the piece alone.”

A little something to add a pop of color to a monochromatic scheme. I think the embossed floral pattern on the plastic surface adds a light sense of humor that Mon Oncle would approve of.

While this chair was designed in 1946, I can’t say that I’ve seen it around that much. Now, the Domus Chair, sure, that’s no stranger, but the curvy lounge chair pictured above is brand new to my eyes. The black stained version has my name written all over it (you just can’t see it because the text is so small, ha ha).

Good looking task chairs are hard to come by, and while I’m not sure about the ergonomics of this one by Konstantin Grcic, it sure kicks the heck out of the ones at your local office supply. It looks simple and minimal (if I had a dime for everytime I used those two words…) plus swivels and adjusts in height with a gas piston lever.

Blue. Wishbone. Chairs. Can you believe your eyes? For the Wishbone Chair’s 60th anniversary, Carl Hansen & Son is releasing 12 new colors. That’s right, 12 new colors. The first set is in blue, as you see above, with a green palette in May and more colors to follow in October. The price sure isn’t cheap, but it’s an iconic chair with limited availability, so what else can we expect?

Remember this from way back in 2007? I sure do because it sort of knocked my socks off. As is often the case, there wasn’t much in the way of price or convenient online purchasing options because it was more of a prototype idea, so I refrained from posting it. But just today I ran across an actual retail link, so, here we are. If you’ve got the cash it’s a pretty fabulous seating option for a larger space (i.e. office area or loft).
