Ooo, I remember seeing this years(?) ago, perhaps in its initial design phase, and being utterly disappointed that I couldn’t post it because it wasn’t available to purchase yet. Now it is, thankfully, though I’m sure it has been for some time and I just missed it. Please take note that the chair adjusts to each person’s comfort; the seat becomes the back and vice versa depending on the angle of recline you prefer.

Lisa Widén’s idea to create the Cloud chair was born sitting on an airplane looking down at the clouds below. The thought of being able to lounge around on soft and fluffy clouds inspired her to create this soft, comfy and playful upholstered easy chair with a black metal support frame. The Cloud chair is easily adjustable, meaning that the seat can become the back support and vice versa. This enables everyone, regardless of height or size, to find their own favorite position.

Ah, how great are these chairs by Lina Nordqvist? Each one has a slightly different back and leg spindle design, yet they all form a family around a table. Very fitting for a dining room, don’t you think?

Inspired by objects that possess individuality, something beyond function, the designer transformed something well-known and traditional into something unexpected. A fresh interpretation of Swedish stick-back chairs, each of these four chairs features a slightly different yet complementary design on the back and on the spindles between the legs. Together they form a family, each displaying a distinctive character around the table. Versatile and practical, they can also be used throughout the home or office.

This chair is made in the UK from recycled Sony Playstation consoles. While it’s a little alarming that there’s enough Playstations to recycle into furniture, it’s nice to know that they become chairs instead of ending up in landfills. (Just so you know, the 2.4 kg of plastic saved/recycled is about 5.29 lbs.)

This bench is fantastic. It’s made of interlocking loops of hot-rolled steel coated in glossy black rubber.

I always find it interesting when mass retailers sell one of a kind pieces. In this case, CB2 is selling these little stools from 100% reclaimed sal wood retrieved from “older village buildings in India as newer construction moves in”.

I want this outdoor chair so bad I can’t see straight.

I’ve meant to post this ages ago. Not only does this armless rocker look incredibly relaxing, it’s also lovely to look at. Plus, with space big enough to curl up on, it’s a natural choice for a living room lounge chair.

I’ve no idea why the retailer in Europe has it marked so much lower than the US one, but this chair is quite lovely. Maybe it’s not the best choice for anyone short on floorspace, but its curves certainly command a long glance and look to hold a person comfortably.

These sculptural chairs sure pack a visual punch. They almost look more ‘art’ than ‘chair’ with their curves and evident workmanship, though I’m sure the comfort is up to par.
