I’m not made of money, but this chair is. (ba-dum-bum-chhha!)
“Performance art in a chair: Hand-welded in the curvaceous shape of a butterfly, amassed from 1500 half dollar coins and 7000 welds. Stainless steel and half-dollar pieces. The contoured shape is designed to cradle the body. 58 pounds.”
Measures 46″ x 32″ x 34″.

This hard to miss chair comes with a removable felt color and is actually pretty affordable considering it includes an ottoman.
Made in Denmark.

I’m not quite sure where I first saw these, but each are entirely unique stools without the shocking price tag you’d normally expect (not that they’re cheap, they’re just a little more affordable than some of the designer pieces out there).
Cadiz Stool, White Porcelain, 18″ x 14″ x 14″, $525.00:
“The stools are shod with teak shoes to match the top of the accompanying table and also prevent the glazed edge of the porcelain from chipping against the floor.”
Louis Zinc Stool, Zinc Finish, 16″ x 16″ x 17.5″, $387.50:
“Cold pressed saddle seat in mild steel, stamped out Louis profiles legs folded at 90 degrees and welded by hand create this charming metal stool. Finished in an industrial zinc plate to allow for outdoor use; to compliment the Louis Zinc Table. Stackable stool in steel with a zinc plated outdoor finish..”
Designed by John Reeves of Reeves Design.

The
Gubi Chair
did a disappearing act a while back, and we received several emails from those of you that were trying to find it with no luck. Happily, it is again available for purchase. The picture above is, of course, the lounge, but the other chairs and stools are available from the same source. Lots of color options on the upholstered versions as well…

While this costs a pretty penny and then some, it sure is something. It reminds me of Jacobsen’s
Egg Chair, just more edgy/angular.
“characterized by angular lines, this armchair is constructed of a steel
frame covered with injected flame-retardant polyurethane foam and
polyester fiber. the base consists of a lacquered steel tube, in rifle
brown and gray, and the footrest is chrome. comes in three different
styles: armchair, revolving armchair, and armchair with footrest.”
armchair: 30.3″w x 43.3″h x 35.3″d, $2,932.00
armchair with footrest: 30.3″w x 43.3″h x 49.5″d, $3,807.00
revolving armchair: 31.5″w x 43.3″h x 34.8″d, $4,026.00

The thick hand carved seats and backs of these stools gives an almost cushion-like quality to the wood. I also like the idea of the folding tables for tight spots or when an extra surface is needed.
Folding Tables: “The metal base for these table collapses for easy storage. The table top is a piece of our
favored reclaimed Douglas fir. Oil and wax finish, darkened metal legs.”
17″ High Table: 15″w. x 20″l. x 17″h, $240.00
28″ High Table: 15″w. x 20″l. x 28″h, $280.00
Sculpted Stools: “Pieces of
reclaimed Douglas fir are individually hand carved to create the seat and back rest of each stool. The metal has a darkened finish.” Available in three sizes, 15″(w/o back rest), 26″, 30″:
w/o back rest $275.00
