So, you want super-duper-future-modern, do you? How ’bout this stool? Made of 1/4″ brushed steel plate, it certainly has clean hard lines, and if that doesn’t classify as super(d.f.)-modern, I don’t know what will.

This is a bit pricy, but you’re essentially getting two furniture pieces for the price of one! (I can essentially justify buying anything if I like it enough)

Another great creation from Scrapile, the Brookly duo who reclaim woodscraps and turn them into furniture masterpieces. If you’re looking for a modern sofa, and if you’re planning on having it for a while, I recommend the Bottoni. The size and shape are simple and sophisticated, yet the price tag doesn’t knock all the wind out of your lungs. Really, when you think about all the time you spend on a sofa and how long you’ll have it (years?), and consider the cost per month, it’s really a steal. One of the perks of this particular sofa is that there are small blanket-type things (sold separately) that can customize the seat back if you were wanting a bit more pattern.

For a relatively inexpensive sofa, this is not a bad choice. It folds down into a bed and it’s available in leather (add $280).

Do I need to say that this looks way better than anything that falls under the category of “futon”? I think I probably don’t, but just in case, if you’re thinking about a sit/sleep double action sofa, I recommend serious consideration of this particular sofa. It looks good.

Here’s a secret about me. I’m cheap. Some may call that frugal. Anyway, I don’t really ever like to pay retail so I try to shop around and get the best price, which is why I love the internet. I really want one of the Time Life Stools and they retail at around $700. I think the pricing is all kind of arbitrary. If they retailed for $1400 then I would buy two at $700 because I was getting a good deal. But since they retail at $700 I want to try to do better. It’s a sickness, really. But here’s the good news: I found a place where you can buy them for $629 with no tax and free shipping. So there you go.

Not really, but the other stuff is true. The foam is firm enough to set drinks and plates on and it’s pretty light, so you can move it around to suit your needs. Brilliant, huh?
