Who doesn’t wish they had a hidden door or secret passageway? My childhood readings of Nancy Drew (and the Hardy Boys) lodged that particular want early on, and looky here, if I had 3 G’s I could make that wish come true.
If you’re the do-it-yourself-er type, woodweb.com has drawings for a Hidden-Pivot Bookcase Door worth checking out.
Hidden bookcases smoothly slide on a floor-based rail (included) and conceal any room in your home or office. They open and close very quietly–by pulling–and exhibit no sign of entry when closed. Up to 500 pounds of books and decorations can be placed on the shelves. Instructions are included, but we can set up installation if desired.
Made of oak wood, maple wood or cherry wood, high-strength rail system
Large: 88″h x 66″w
Medium: 88″h x 54″w
